Not sure what to think of it, I think it'll grow. I'll definitely be downloading it tomorrow so will bung it straight onto my playlist and see how it fares with time!

I read something somewhere (possibly even in this thread  ) which suggested this was very much a "first draft" of the final song. That suggested they are still working on the final version even as we speak.

Well they better look sharp if it's released tomorrow morning.

Hopefully. It would be nice to have a dance Christmas song (even if it is a remix). The only one I can think of is Cascada's cover of 'Last Christmas'. There are probably more though.

Have you forgotten the classic that was 'Jingle Bells (Bass)' by Basshunter?

don't remind the 2 people who know that about it, that was truly pitiful.

I think the problem is that it's a bit depressing. It seemed even slower than Band Aid 20. The original had a bit of oomph to it. It just never really goes anywhere.

I knew there was another out about the time of Cascada, but couldn't remember what it was.

Ellie Gouldings vocals are seriously jarring.

I laughed a little. Which is wrong during a Band Aid single.

Sounds like a witch trying to cast a spell on stray cats.

The new words just don't sound right? What the hell do Ellie Goulding and I'm guessing it's Sinead O'Connor, what do they even say? Who invited Rita Bore'a and why has she been given so much of the song?

Indeed but the version shown tonight may well have been completed some time this morning so they will have had a fair bit of time to work on it. I assume there will then be additional mixes when the CD is released.

I wasn't impressed with Ellie Goulding's bit and Sinead O'Connor's part certainly needs some fine tuning (or re-recording).

Yeah, both of their vocals weren't great. I don't know what happened to One Direction's vocals either.

I was waiting for someone else to say it. But yes, Ellie sounded AWFUL.
It feels very rushed, can tell it's all very last minute. At least it looked like some thought went into 2004's.
It's so slow :( I quite like it though but I really want the pulsing guitars of 1984 to kick in!!

Cascada had an entire Xmas album out two years ago! This was my favourite:

I think what people forget is that DTKIC was never a great song to begin with. Good cause, good artists collaboration, alright song. The original is my favourite version and even then it's not up there with my favourite Christmas songs.
