Also, really glad how consistent the album has been throughout the week. I hope text Santa today and the airing of US X-factor tomorrow could give a boost to the album and push it into the top 15 come Sunday. ^_^

I wonder if two days of physicals for Beyonce can push her any higher come Sunday. Would be nice to see it reach a new peak.

One Direction's This is Us DVD has sold 170k on it's first day of sales (Thursday). That is in fact a record for a music DVD, the previous being Michael Jackson's similarly titled This is It.

A lot of places don't have it in stock yet, so probably not.

While Leona Lewis' chart run of 34-03-03 is indicative of it being a mild 'hit', sales are pretty poor. It'll have sold less than 35k this week, so no more than 100k by the year end. Hopefully it'll return next year, it'd be a shame for it not too; same goes for Kelly Clarkson.

Singles sales look pretty low. 39k for a number two up until Friday during Christmas week is pretty tragic. When are the British Public going to ditch buying the dire poo factor winner's song which seems to dominate the Christmas chart every year? At least then, we might be in with a chance of a decent Christmas Number One!!

But then sales would be even lower....

Actually it's on for a sales increase. It sold 14.7k Sunday-Tuesday last week and sold 19.3k the same period this week. It sold 41k last week, so I think it's going to do 45k+ this week.

I think this is probably true. If you look at the Christmas week right up until 2003 there was a flood of entries the Christmas week by the leading acts of the time which seems to have been eradicated by X Factor/ reality TV winning singles.

I don't see how that's possible. Hadn't it sold 29k up to Wednesday night? I'd put it at closer to 45k this week, so just shy of 100k overall. For a brand new Christmas song, I think that's very impressive for 3 weeks of sales. It should easily shift another 10-15k next week before it disappears for this year too.

Indeed that was the case but I'm confused. Before XF did big pop stars release singles in the race for Xmas no1 from albums that were already available or were they just one of singles? Because most big stars would want to release albums in November?!

There's 2 more streaming services starting January too - it's only a matter of time before this info is included. It's the radio stations/record industries fault for stopping singles being made available straight away and continuing to hold them back for weeks on end in an era where people expect them when they hear them!
