I usually buy 3 or 4 a year.

Normally I buy a cd album of any Tori Amos, Rihanna and Alanis Morissette release. Then the odd album that really takes my fancy, this year it was Macklemore.

:cheer: I bought my copy online through a UK retailer, dunno if it counts towards its total sales

I'd say it does good to help them :)

Definitely. I buy albums (mostly the deluxe editions) on CDs only but I usually wait 6-10 months (or more) after release to get them for a more reasonable offline price or just order them from one of the UK's online shops where I can get them for less 1-2 months after their release. My wanted list constantly has over 500 titles, so there's always something to chose from and buy ;)

The only album I bought online was Beyonce's last release, but in this case there was a 20% off on iTunes gift cards, so it was cheaper then its usual online price anyway.

The only albums I bought last year right after their release for full price were Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience 1-2 and Eminem's The Marshall Matters LP 2.

I still buy CD albums in preference to downloads, especially for my fav artists.

Almost invariably via Amazon, due to autorip.

So do you not listen to music??

Yes of course I do! I may be 54 next week but still love music. I keep an eye and ear on the charts but don't like much of the latest stuff. Play some of my 1000+ CD albums, mainly older stuff.

Actually forgot, bought Eminem's MMLP2 as well. Slipped my mind.

Yes... even though I don't possess a CD player aside from the CD drive in my iMac! I only buy them if I REALY want it, once upon a time I bought them for the sake of it.
I almost always buy CD albums and download singles. I buy less albums as the years go on though as I seems to have less that I want to buy. I also tend to buy most of my albums in December/January cos I know they'll be cheaper

Oh yes I definitely always get physical albums - I prefer to have the actual CD itself rather than just a download. :P I bought physical singles too up until about 2011.

In media, my teacher asked my class who still bought physical albums and only two of us said yes.

I like the idea of actually owning an album, instead of having a few files on my computer

So I buy CD's if they're worth buying, hardly any digitals

I tend to download illegally first to check whether the album is any good - because so few acts release albums I actually enjoy. Then if I enjoy the album I buy it on CD.

I like actually having a physical copy of the music I'm listening to. I've been stingey at times and opted for £4.99 downloads on Amazon, e.g. For Daft Punk, who I wasn't fussed about having on CD. For artists I fully support though, I like having the CD.

Going to give recollecting my CD purchases this year a go, think I got them all: AlunaGeorge, Bastille, Chase & Status, Everything Everything, Haim, Kanye West, Kings of Leon, Kodaline, Laura Mvula, Tinie Tempah and Tom Odell.

Recently I haven't had time for shopping in music stores and I admit to having not much more storage for physical albums but I would definitely buy some new stuff when on a good price offer. On the other hand I would NEVER buy a compilation album, especially something containing big hits like Now, I wholeheartedly hate this rubbish taking up room in music shops. I mean, why would you pay for a collection of songs you can hear practically everywhere almost each day? Buying albums means discovering music to me hence I love bringing with me some local stuff while I'm on the road in some exotic countries.

At some point this won't be the case and it's nice to have the compilations around for a bit of nostalgia. Very rarely will I have anything other than an old Now CD on when I'm driving.

I much prefer to buy physical CD's for albums, but tend to download for singles. I like looking through the booklets and and having a physical copy which you can then put onto your iPod etc.
Definitely, love owning a physical CD, hate digital copies personally.
I think judging by reading this thread it is down to a love/respect for an artist as to whether you buy a cd, download or illegally download. I know I'm the same, I'd never illegally download a Tori Amos song/album if I could buy the CD or download, but other artists I don't really give a jot about they really have to convince me more than ever these days to invest money into them.

Well, I don't have a car to begin with hehe.

I'm much more into alternative and underground music to be nostalgic about some random mainstream old hits.
