I don't think performing XO would be a waste at all. However, performing an album track didn't hurt Adele.
I thought they were both being pushed as singles? 'XO' was meant to be the lead before music channels decided to play 'Drunk In Love' more (probably down to it getting more views on it's release than 'XO' did). I also assume its why radio 1 haven't playlisted any yet because they're not certain on what song is the single yet, maybe?

I dunno. I hate messy campaigns like this  It does please me how much 'XO' has risen over the last week or so

They playlisted XO this week it went straight on to B List they haven't playlisted Drunk in Love yet but Drunk in Love is on the Radio 1xtra Playlist.

XO is on the 1Xtra playlist as well, and that station often playlists album tracks, so I never base what is a single off it, whilst Radio 1 hardly ever playlists album tracks.

10) Sub Focus - Turn Back Time 0.1552

11) Little Mix - Little Me 0.1387

12) Martin Garrix - Animals 0.1356

Of course 'Little Me' would finally overtake 'Animals', only for a song to come from nowhere and pip them to number 10. I'm sure the exact same happened with CYL. Ah well, it has no hope of going top 10 this week anyway, nor next with the new releases.

Could Turn Back Time become Sub Focus's best-selling single? I think Tidal Wave has sold the most so far.

XO isn't an album track, it's the first single!

Lovely to see Sub Focus so high up

As the quality of the singles that Sub Focus releases lowers, the higher they end up in the charts. Sad times. :(

If only "Follow The Light" or "Splash" went T10.

There's a whole thread waiting to be made about this! So many other acts I can think of who've had the same thing...

That just shows how little impact airplay actually has on the charts #deadhorse

The playlist doesn't activate till Monday though.

"Little Me" needs to be reduced to 59p or something. <_<

The one 'XO' was added to was last week's playlist (announced on Monday of this week i.e. the day it came into effect for some reason). 'XO' has climbed rather a lot this week but people are still clearly preferring 'Drunk In Love' (and rightfully so now I've heard 'XO', pretty uninspiring song).

Ma mistake, I was confused.

It has only been 5 days since XO was added to the Radio 1 playlist, give the song a chance! Tracks that have the album available already tend to be slow-burners so it could rise over time.

 16 Busta Rhymes ft Q-Tip, Kanye West & Lil Wayne- Thank You

Definitely looking like this will enter the Top40. I guess the last time Busta had a track that high on iTunes was when he featured on Tiesto and Diplo's 'C'mon (Catch 'Em By Surprise) in 2011.

55. Naughty Boy ft Sam Smith- La La La

98. Sam Smith- Lay Me Down

Not had much of an effect to his tracks than other "Sound of" winners have had.
