That Pharrell song just got nominated for an Oscar. I must need to get my ears checked.

Sorry for being stupid but what does 'Baroque' mean?

Pop music fused with classical music - it was initially very big in the 1960s fused with rock 'n' roll, but it had a small revival in the 80s and early 90s, I don't think there's ever been a significantly big hit of this nature before and certainly not this century.

If you want to be pedantic, Florence + The Machine's 'Spectrum' was a baroque pop #1. Of course almost all of the sales that made it #1 were of a dance version though.

On a mostly unrelated note, from looking through Clean Bandit's Wiki page, I wonder if 'Intentions' by Gorgon City feat. Clean Bandit would have been a big hit if they released it a few weeks from now :P As it was it missed the top 100 despite being the follow-up to both acts' biggest hits up to that point.

Ah thanks!!

Haha same old question. :D

Avicii - Wake Me Up, it was top 10 (around number 9 or 10 if not a bit higher)

Actually, wasn't it James Arthur (although billed as 'X Factor Winner') with 'Impossible' (again billed as simply 'Winner's Single' until release). I'm sure it reached #1 on pre-order alone at around 10:30-11pm? Obviously it stuck at #1 when it was released at midnight!

Any song ever >>>>>>>> Death >>>>>>>>>>>> 'Happy'

140. Disclosure - Voices (feat. Sasha Keable)

When did this get so high? Hope it can go top 200 this week.

It was #150 last week so it's been around there for at least a week. Its initial success on cherrypicks is even more bizarre now it seems to be doing absolutely nothing as a single (otherwise I would have been completely unsurprised to see it doing so badly, it's a clear lowlight of 'Settle').

You could place pretty much any song in the top 40 where Let It Go is and this statement would be true!

Any song ever >>>>>>>> Death >>>>>>>>>>>> 'Happy'

Wow, you should really re-evaluate your perspective on life. You seem to imply that 'It's My Party' is superior to death :P

It is about on the same level.

Prob released for awards season, helped the album back up to no22!

Disclosure have just released a video for "Grab Her!" too, clearly just trying to boost album sales any way possible.

It's gonna be an iTunes party for Clean Bandit on Sunday. The admin people at the UK branch of Apple will be seeing "Clean Bandit - Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" in their sleeps next week after it pops up on their database over and over again.

I gave it a proper listen today to try and understand what makes it single worthy over 'Confess To Me', still don't get it at all.

Nevermind, it's been a real mess of an era since the album was released. I mean, 'Help Me Lose My Mind' was a reasonable choice but the other two are just mindless.

well F For You seemed to work out fairly well in the end :kink: I still think 'When A Fire Starts to Burn' could've performed decently if it got a proper push, but oh well ~

Very weird video. I really like the song though. That whole album is just brilliant though, definitely my favourite from 2013
