To be fair, 'We Found Love' did spend 6 non-consecutive weeks at #1, which is just as impressive as 6 weeks in a row. :P

All of the 00's had it's highlights, 2010-2011 had AMAZING songs and so did 2013. I hope it's a selection of songs from 2000-2014 and not just things like 2009-2014
Shame they couldn't have done a final rejig of the tracklist for Now 87 to switch the postitioning of Chainsmokers and Duke Dumont, #Selfie is the most jarring disc starter they've had since Blue's Curtain Falls imo. Seems weird to sequence a novelty curiosity that wasn't even THAT big here right in front of four #1's.

I see it more as being a sort of social history snapshot of what life was like in 2014, so when people dig out the CDs in years to come they'll play Disc 2 and think "Oh yeah, that's when selfies were all the rage". Curtain Falls was definitely an odd one but I guess the fact that Blue were on their way out was seen as a big deal.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy this? For years (since Now 79 if not earlier) Sainsbury's online shop would always sell this at £10, but they no longer do CDs. Best I've found is £12.

Have they completely run out of themes for the spinoffs? They might as well just release a compilation called 'Now That's What I Call Songs!'

I know! And there's still things to work with... I've been wanting a Now That's What I Call The 70's and a Now That's What I Call The 60's for some time now.

The song choices in the advert, maybe except I Got U, are very boring
A new track list for Now 21st Century has appeared on Amazon. Nothing has been confirmed by Now so I hope it's not real because as we feared they've missed out most of the 00s.

What, no #Selfie on the advert? :o

Yep that Now 21st Century tracklist I've seen in a few places now, 2000-2006 apparently didn't exist!

It's on the NOW Music website archive. It's a major let down. The cover does have "2005" and "2006" on it, yet the oldest song is from 2008. Plus all these songs have been on very recent spin-offs anyway. They really like "Firework" by Katy Perry.

I think I preferred when they released a small amount of spin-offs, because it was more a case of quality, not quantity.

I agree, it had the potential to be brilliant. It's not even using any songs that have been previously missed so it's a completely pointless purchase to any Now fan that already has all of the numbered editions.

To potential was huge. I was expecting a nice mixture of songs like NOW Running 2014. But no  There is no selling point to this album, it'd be better off being a digital album release in all honesty. I could come up with a 21st Century album in 5 mins and it'd still look better than that.

In fact here it is.

Disc 1:

01: Melanie C featuring Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez - Never Be the Same Again

02: Britney Spears - Oops!...I Did It Again

03: Robbie Williams - Rock DJ

04: Atomic Kitten - Whole Again

05: Jennifer Lopez - Love Don't Cost a Thing

06: Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out of My Head

07: Enrique Iglesias - Hero

08: Ronan Keating - If Tomorrow Never Comes

09: DJ Sammy - Heaven

10: t.A.T.u - All the Things She Said

11: R. Kelly - Ignition (Remix)

12: Black Eyed Peas - Where is the Love?

13: Kelis - Milkshake

14: Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme

15: Natasha Bedingfield - These Words

16: Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For?

17: James Blunt - You're Beautiful

18: Sugababes - Push the Button

19: Gnarls Barkley - Crazy

20: Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin'

Disc 2:

01: MIKA - Grace Kelly

02: Rihanna featuring JAY Z - Umbrella

03: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

04: Duffy - Mercy

05: Estelle featuring Kanye West - American Boy

06: Girls Aloud - The Promise

07: Lily Allen - The Fear

08: Lady Gaga - Poker Face

09: Cheryl Cole - Fight for this love

10: Alexandra Burke featuring Flo Rida - Bad Boy

11: Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg - California Gurls

12: Eminem featuring Rihanna - Love the Way You Lie

13: Bruno Mars - Grenade

14: Adele - Someone Like You

15: Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger

15: Gotye featuring Kimbra - Somebody That I Used to Know

16: fun. featuring Janelle Monae - We Are Young

17: PSY - Gangam Style

18: will.i.am featuring Britney Spears - Scream & Shout

19: Daft Punk featuring Pharrell - Get Lucky

20: OneRepublic - Counting Stars

21: Pharrell - Happy

So much of a missed opportunity then. Nothing for first 8 years of the century? I know it was a hit but Journey wasn't even released this century. Plus 2 Maroon 5 songs and not the missed out This Love? Of course not, just the same 2 that appear on nearly every spinoff. Oh well.
Lots of mistakes in the Now 87 booklet as always. Pharerell (), Million Pound Girl is apparently the follow up to Antenna for Fuse ODG, Riptide apparently peaked at No.14 in the UK etc...! Always completely astonishes me that these companies don't hire a proofreader!
The Fuse ODG thing could be 'technically correct' (the best kind of correct) as 'Azonto' was a re-release, so if you only count each song once the order of the singles was Azonto - Antenna - Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad). The rest though :P

They've slaughtered Braveheart.

Jay Fay's vocals (?) in Dibby Dibby Sound are completely different as well.

So bizarre to have all of the Warner releases missing. If they can't renegotiate the contract then all of these artists may not appear on a Now album again:

Blur

B.o.B

Bruno Mars

Michael Bublé

Biffy Clyro

Cee Lo Green

Clean Bandit

Coldplay

David Guetta

Jason Derulo

Flo Rida

Gorillaz

Kylie Minogue

Loreen (at least she got her moment of glory on Now 82)

Muse

Sean Paul

Plan B

The Prodigy

Tinie Tempah (although he appears as a featured artist on Now 87)

Molly Smitten-Downes (as if she would anyway )

Wiley

Already feels like we're missing a few of those from this edition! Time for the Hits series to make a comeback!

Oh wow, wish granted. There's a one disc Warner compilation on iTunes released today called Top Hits which features most of the missing songs

Maybe this is the reason why they haven't bothered renewing contracts with the NOW! makers? They've realised they're so popular and it'll be far easier to make their own and not have to share much of the profits!

Missed oppourtunity with Kian Egan though. Poor Now!...

It wouldn't have hurt to put it out on CD, oh well. I'll take what I can get, I've downloaded it as it's only £5.99!

Haha, and Boyzone :drama: Athough I shouldn't mock, that song was a top 3 in my personal chart!

Bit cheeky if they're always going to release them on the same day as the Now albums though!
