Loving All Hands On Deck! Hope it's next single!

Haven't listened to too many albums this year, to be honest, but man, this one's so good. Currently bumping it in the car along with twigs.

 

"2 On" peaked at #24 here in the US as it was a big hit at urban radio, and it got a push at pop radio but never quite crossed over the way "Don't Tell 'Em" did recently, which is disappointing because it's not only a creative breakthrough for Tinashe but also for DJ Mustard imo.

I woke up to '2 On' blaring on the radio and i had such an overwhelmingly GOOD feeling to finally hear it out there. It completely butchered the song by removing Schoolboy's rap but i haven't been happier to hear a song on the radio in ages. I am still holding out hope that this will do something, ANYTHING but it will probably muster only enough to match 'Adorn' / '3005' and those other re releases. Or she'll have a huge follow up that will really take off and we'll all be stumped at how it didn't happen to '2 On' either. Please can that breakout hit be 'Feels Like Vegas'? :wub: but whatever happens the album flopping as it did will always be a travesty.

 

A #24 peak is decent in the US especially as she's only just getting her name out there. Here's to 2015 being her year, commercially.

Little did yall know, right before the ‪#‎AquariusTour‬ I sprained my ankle!! luckily with a lot of help from ice, Advil, @tinashemomma 's physical therapy skills, and adrenaline I was able to push through every single night!!! Some things are just too important to quit on!!

Finally got around to listening to this - I was a bit put off by 'Pretend' TBH as I feared it would end up being an album full of that. Ended up being by quite a bit the worst song on the entire album.

 

'All Hands On Deck' is INCREDIBLE and needs to be pushed as a single, although with the '2 On' re-release still doing nothing in the UK it's quite hard to see how that would do any better :( Other highlights are 'Bated Breath' (almost TOO good :heart:) and 'Wildfire'. Also the first 3 tracks although they sort of blended into each other a bit (which was again worrying me slightly but luckily the rest of the album was rather more diverse).

 

The production throughout this album is so so good. (Except for 'Pretend' again which sounds like an Alex da Kid reject or something, she is too good for such a weak attempt at a radio-friendly hit, at least '2 On' sold out in a GOOD way).

Definitely All Hands On Deck and Bated Breath *.* But it's all amazing and works better as a full listen.

'All Hands On Deck', 'Feels Like Vegas', 'Cold Sweat' and 'Bet' are the other highlights for me. But just buy it as even the worst tracks are 8/10+
