She's building a career off the back of the fact basic dirge sells. Just what is this woman's appeal?

It's more from being a $l*t

This song is quite good, but I'm getting Young Foolish Happy vibes from this era (i.e. generic lead single which does well followed by a few minor hits and a floppy album)

I hope it grows on me, it's good to have her back!

I just played this with no expectations. Prior to now she's always been a void as a popstar. But this completely justifies her existence on the scene. What a massive tune. Bursting with effervescence, it really is a lost Whitney track from the 80s airlifted into 2014. Superb vocals and production. Not straining to sound big like that Sia track, but just achieving it effortlessly. All paired with a very endearing video. Pretty sure this will be the track that makes her global. If she has anything else this good up her sleeve I could well get on board the Rita express. A+.

As per usual you are spot on with your analysis (although time will tell if this will take her global). I wouldn't have listened to this if I didn't read your optimistic review (especially since I hate everything she has put her name to - including 'Hot Right Now'). This song will sound great in the Summer.

I like it, but that's all, it all feels a bit too basic for me and I don't get the "massive" feel about it at all. It's what Scherz said really, it's lacking a big chorus, obviously there's one there, but once she's done doing it in the bridge, I feel like it's really going to explode into a special chorus... and it doesn't.

It has the potential to grow though, as it's memorable enough for me to be singing "ohh ohh I will never let you down" 5 minutes after first listening to it, which is promising.

I expected a bit more from the promo's...its good for her but overall that chorus is just lacking any energy, it reminds me of Notorious in the sense that you expect it to pick up around the chorus just for it to fall flat, and before you know it it's the next verse and nothing really happened!
It's decent enough, but it feels very faceless - I wouldn't be able to instantly pinpoint who it's by if I heard it on the radio. There's not much individuality she offers to this type of song which has been about 50 gazillion times before.

Loving this so much. By far the best thing she's done.

Yes, it may not be innovative or original but who cares?

Massive pop song right hereee.

But it's not even "generic". I mean what does it sound like that's big right now? That's such a lazy critique.

I enjoyed it! It reminds me of It's my party, albeit very different songs, in terms of it's general appeal and the similar music direction she's taking to Jessie J

Quite like it. Her lyrics are always so tepid though which stops me properly loving anything from her.

And let's not get ahead of ourselves and start comparing it to 'Chandelier' in anyway possible.

Absolutely loving this! It reminds me of 'Boomerang' by N Scherz, but a bit more up-to-date (probably down to Calvin's involvement in the song). Sometimes simple, big pop songs, is ALL we need. I can see this being a pretty big success and as someone else has already stated, it's ridiculously radio friendly and they'll be all over it. Particularly Capital, I imagine. Welcome back Rita <3

The video is good too! So endearing! There IS star appeal in her, I don't know how people can't see it personally haha. :(

I quite like it, not spectacular but decent enough. I also like that it isn't a typical Calvin Harris production either.

THIS ALL THIS.

Bloody brilliant song.

Yeah, l've never been a fan of her or her music but that is an undeniably catchy song. Not obvious Calvin fare either, surprisingly. Her vocals are great and really lift the chorus. Along with 'Summer', it's going to be ruling the airwaves over the next few months, I'd say. Fingers crossed the album still bombs though
I agree that she herself is quite vapid and devoid of much star quality but colour me impressed by this. A big pop song is what I want a lot of the time and this is it! It's just so so catchy and feel good, I'm unsure how it will go chart wise though - it could easily be either a Nasty or an All About Tonight if we're comparing to Pixie Lott.
Surely you don't really think it'll do a Nasty. That wasn't even catchy.

I saw the video and that's pretty good, she's actually a stunningly gorgeous lady.

The song's not actually *that* bad so maybe I can spare her my wrath for one single.
