Mylo Xylto is so much better y'all.

Wasn't blown away by that at all. Paradise was far and away the standout track.

Mylo Xyloto, aside from three songs, was pretty terrible and I lost most of my interest in Coldplay. Midnight made me excited for the album, Magic was ok and whilst on its own the new one is good, it's completely taken away any kind of hope I had for the album, the exact opposite of what I wanted the album to be.

If you're worried the album will sound like A Sky Full of Stars, I can assure you it definitely doesn't! That's the one and only upbeat/commercial track on the album, everything else is quite far away from it style-wise.

I must say, I really like A Sky Full Of Stars now. I always enjoyed Magic as well, this era is hitting the spot but just in different places than before.

Massively underwhelmed on a first listen, and I was seriously considering not picking it up again.

HOWEVER I played it in the car last night, and already the first couple of tracks had grown on me massively, so I'm definitely going to give it a few more listens. Nothing really stands about, aside from their latest effort, and the majority of it is quite mellow. But it flows so damn well, I think it's best to judge it as a cohesive piece of music, rather than an album full of potential singles.

I felt like that on first listen, but I thought I am going to give it another chance and when I did I found myself listening to the album a few times over. I think I listened to it about 4 times over. I can honestly say that there is not one bad song on the album.

My Coldplay album ranks -:

6. Viva La Vida

5. Mylo Xyloto

4. Parachutes

3. Ghost Stories

2. A Rush Of Blood To The Head

1. X&Y

HAVE A NICE TIME AT BIG WEEKEND HARVE

I really really like it:

For me it places 3rd out of Coldplay's albums:

1. Rush of Blood

2. Parachutes

3. Ghost Stories

4. Mylo Xyloto

5. Viva La Vida

6. X&Y

That Sky Full of Stars song is so formulaic.

EugH. But I'll probably like it in a few weeks.

I really don't understand why everyone seems to hate 'Mylo Xyloto', I honestly would still rank it as at least my 2nd favourite of their albums even after my initial hyperbolic love of it when it first came out ('X&Y' being the other in the top 2).

Just listened through 'Ghost Stories' for the first time. Thoughts:

'Always In My Head' - gorgeous opening track, I already heard this on the radio the other day so I knew what to expect.

'Magic' - still sounding as good as ever, the transition into it from 'Always In My Head' could have been done a little better though (this is a recurring theme on this album I find)

'Ink' - again a bit of a clunky transition and the song in general sounds a bit out of place but very much liking anyway, sounds the most like a potential single out of the rest of the album tracks

'True Love' - a little bit forgettable but nice nonetheless

'Midnight' - SO SO GOOD. might be starting to prefer this to 'Magic' again, when the electronic-y part kicks in near the end is just perfect <3

'Another's Arms' - pretty gd

'Oceans' - pretty gd again but the bit where it stops and goes into the transition to 'A Sky Full Of Stars' seems unnecessary, at least as a part of the rest of the song - could they not have just made that a separate interlude track like the ones on 'Mylo Xyloto'?

'A Sky Full Of Stars' - obviously very out of place and only made to try and include a 'hit single' on the album but I do like this a lot, much better than I expected from an Avicii collaboration

'O' - strong finish, though the extra little bit at the end wasn't really worth waiting through the long silence in the middle of the track on iTunes.

Definitely nowhere near as instant as their last album but I think it should hopefully click more on repeated listens (I see a few people saying as much in this thread already).

Here is the music video for 'A Sky Full of Stars' and I really like the concept! :D

Midnight for me is the only good, mellow song, this is the song that got me so ecited for the album thinking it'd be a deep, melodic album. And it's just not - Sky Full of Stars ruined it if Magic already hadn't.

1. Rush of Blood to the Head by a country TExan mile

2. X and Y although the lyrics and melodies now sound dated and cheesy

3. Viva la Vida

4. Mylo Xylto

5. Parachutes

6. Ghost Stories
