July 1, 201411 yr Author The THIRD #1 of 2014 was... CLEAN BANDIT & JESS GLYNNE - RATHER BE 4 weeks #1 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2c/Rather_Be_single_cover.jpg I love this a lot more than I think I do. First off, I discovered Clean Bandit when they released Mozart's House last year. An epic track that underperformed and still remains superior to any other of their chart ventures. Fast forward 9 months and they release rather be. A more commercial offer than Their previous release featuring a massive voice and thus giving them their first and so far, only UK #1. Now I do like the track and it's undeniably good but it's a borefest compared to the likes of Mozart's House. Edited July 4, 201411 yr by JSG
July 4, 201411 yr Author The FOURTH #1 of 2014 was... SAM SMITH - MONEY ON MY MIND 1 week #1 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/38/Sam_Smith_Money_on_My_Mind.jpg I actually quite like this. It's Sam Smith's second #1 and 1st as a solo artist and his next single after this also went on to become a #1. He is without a doubt very talented but Money On My Mind is a bit weaker than his other Discography. ASIDE from that, this song is a doozy and i fully support his music! July 4, 201411 yr CLEAN BANDIT & JESS GLYNNE - RATHER BE Now I do like the track and it's undeniably food but it's a borefest compared to the likes of Mozart's House. Must say I agree, Rather Be is certainly their most delicious offering to date~

July 5, 201411 yr Author The FIFTH #1 of 2014 was... Route 94 & Jess Glynne - My Love 1 week #1 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2a/Route_94_My_Love.jpg MY LOVE marked the second single featuring Jess Glynne and subsequently her Second #1 and rightly so. Her voice is amazing and it makes My Love so good, especially in the sun ☀☀☀ Now she is moving onto Solo projects and her debut Solo is dropping on us imminently. My advice is to keep an eye on this little lady with a big voice cause baby, she ain't going nowhere. ALSO what made this track especially amazing is that it was the last track to displace happy from the top spot :cheer:
July 19, 201411 yr Author The SIXTH #1 of 2014 was... DVBBS & Borgeous & Tinie Tempah - Tsunami (Jump) 1 week #1 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/89/Tsunami_(Jump).jpg Personally I think this track is 'just OK' but that's not to say I don't understand the appeal of it. The main thing that bugs me about it though is that it was much better without the Tinie Tempah feature. DVBBS & Borgeous tried to conquer the charts before with this track, releasing it as an instrumental but that failed to take hold. INTRODUCE the Generic rapper and you have yourself a hit. Hopefully in the future DVBBS & Borgeous can release good material and be noticed without the inclusion of a rapper guest star.
July 19, 201411 yr Agreed. The original is SO much better and had that got to number 1 instead it would have easily been my favourite of the year so far.
July 21, 201411 yr putting Tinie Tempah on Tsunami was one of the worst decisions ever made by MoS :( The instrumental would've done as well, maybe even better if they actually released it in January like they were meant to before deciding to premiere a rap version and wait a few more months to release it.
August 18, 201410 yr Author The SEVENTH #1 of 2014 was... Duke Dumont & Jax Jones - I Got U 1 week #1 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d6/Duke_dumont_feat_jax_jones-i_got_u_s.jpg The second track to come from Jax Jones and coincidentally his second consecutive #1! He is rather amazing isn't he. (Is he a he?) Loved this from the minute I heard it. THE BASS ON THIS IS INCREDIBLE for starters and this infectious vocals and hook are just sublime. Can't wait to hear more from him in the future.
August 18, 201410 yr Totally agree regarding 'I Got U', excellent track with a pleasant summery feel to it. I got a tad sick of it due to overplay but hopefully in time I can appreciate it again as much as I did initially!
August 18, 201410 yr Whilst a few I've seen on Buzzjack seemingly dislike/hate I Got You and are saying Won't Look Back is the best DD track I think this one is. Unpopular opinion but it's the only one of his tracks that I even get into if that makes sense LOL. Great review again though James. Keep up the good work :cheer: Edited August 18, 201410 yr by Rob Swift
August 18, 201410 yr I hate I got you to bits. I just find it a bunch of noise. Not heard wont look back yet but I liked need u (100%)
August 19, 201410 yr Author The EIGHTH #1 of 2014 was... 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER - SHE LOOKS SO PERFECT 1 week #1 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/44/5SOS_She_Looks_So_Perfect.jpg I don't get it. Sure the song is fantastic but what is with the recent influx of boybands flooding the UK charts? It's growing tiresome and on top of that, most of their music is garbage. 5 Seconds of Summer are different in that they are releasing a different type of music but this whole affair just feels all too 2004 for me.
August 19, 201410 yr Author The NINTH #1 of 2014 was... Aloe Blacc - The Man 1 week #1 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/22/Aloe_Blacc_The_Man.jpg A great start to Aloe Blacc's career. On Hindsight I don't think it was that strong a single to come into the charts with but it sure was great at the time and his new one is so much better. THE MAN continues the string of 1 week #1 singles and becomes the 6th in a row. The 6th out of 14 in a row to be exact. UP NEXT WE HAVE one of my fave #1's of the year.

Someone is forgetting about I Need A Dollar/Wake Me Up :kink: I Got U is lush  The Man is pretty good but it does feel like it only went to #1 off the back of Wake Me Up plus it being held-back. I Need A Dollar was far better and should've been his solo #1 instead but that was his debut and wasn't held back so had to settle for #2
