i took great offense at what he said to me, he isn't the only person to go after my health. do you want to explain to me why me not altering his song title had something to do with me having a post-operative infection? i have never interacted with rob before and so don't know what he means by his remarks and again i am not the only one who thought they came across in a certain way.

 

he has made no effort to clear the air so that only stands to make me feel he did mean it in the way in which i and others took it.

 

this competition has been ruined by people taking it far too seriously. perhaps i have overreacted but when you have multiple people coming after you and berating you with remarks about your health being thrown in. if oricon has a problem with the tagging situation (along with everyone else) could they not have taken it to pm or expressed themselves slightly better. i've been spending hours trying to get this right and the response i've gotten back has made me angry but particularly upset.

I don't enjoy that implication. There are plenty of posters I'm friends with that I've felt were in the wrong before and Yu is included in that group. The argument with Kath about foreign language music was at least partly his fault, he shouldn't have got so defensive.

 

I've already given my own opinion about what he meant and as someone who has a lot more experience with him as a poster than you I am inclined to think I am correct. Think about it - Kath said Yu attacking your hosting when his was shit was ironic and she is correct, him doing that would be idiotic. So you can either assume he's being ridiculous or... you can assume that he actually wasn't attacking you because he's not that stupid.

 

If he's absent that's all the more reason not to continue this. I didn't want to get involved in this but you and Kath driving the witch hunt while he's not around to defend himself was beyond a joke.

 

People are always this pedantic about the contest, most people just accept it because if you don't Pavel will make you want to kill yourself. I don't deny people are too fussy and I'm sorry you had to deal with so much criticism coming from all angles. For your own enjoyment of the contest I really think you should relax and take a breather from this thread so you can sort everything out at your own pace or just get Kath to do it so you can de-stress. I'm saying this not just as someone who wants to enjoy the contest himself and not just someone defending Yu but someone who wants you to enjoy the contest. I think everyone's learned to turn down their c**t modes when there are errors, so you just need to put this behind you and you'll get back in the mood for the rest of the contest.

Not wanting to "drag the contest down" or anything, I am also passionate about BJSC but as venomous cheerleader I feel the need to mention that I am not the only one who sided with Jake on this Umi - singling me out like that is quite the incorrect generalisation. See others posts by Chris, imaduck, luk etc. I also feel that the cheerleader tag applies to you, defending a friend (Oricon), while me defending a friend (Jake). BJSC should not be like this in the first place and the fact stands that Oricon making an ironic and personal dig was completely inappropriate for an already difficult situation. I wouldn't go out of my way to post negatively about Oricon if it wasn't needed, and frankly a "vendetta" is another inappropriate tag for this particular situation. This is an internet forum, your posts reflect who you are and are obviously going to be judged but in this case Oricon's post upset Jake and not only him but others also - that doesn't equate to a vendetta or dragging a contest down. It's a mere opinion in response to a post which was going to be met with dislike and backlash to begin with.

 

In other news, let's keep the peace please and look forward to the semis which will be re-opened and hosting should carry on normally again and hopefully with a better response. Me and Jake will sure put in the best effort we can :cheer:

I think I speak for all BJSC mods (old and new) when I say that we know how it feels to have a barrage of petty comments criticising almost everything you've worked hard on and it's quite demoralising. Best thing to do here is for everybody to refrain from dragging it out publicly (it has already stopped but I just need to flaunt some authorité) and take any remaining issues over PM. Silas will be with all y'all shortly, so until then, let's take a step back and appreciate cats:

I don't think anyone here is in the wrong or indeed intended any malice, it was just unfortunate that things kind of spiralled out of control - I hope Jake/Kath continue to host because I feel like once the competition gets underway that they'll be able to provide an entertaining SLANT on things.

#1 in the countdown would of course be FSR Rontvia's 50th birthday celebrations being cruelly dashed with Delta's Hunters And The Wolves on the harsh losing end of a tied win! :( Numayania on the lucky side of the winning coin twice in 2012!

 

Realistically, the March 2009 NF-gate is the one that sticks out in my mind as being the most explosive argument we've had here. Or the cheap debates at their most rife when Silly Boy and Hollywood both swept the board. Or the horribly ill-fated banlist, which was my idea iirc. Oops! Or Smack Me, the saviour of BJSC etc...I'm not all bad :P

 

But newer participants will certainly have others!

I agree, I enjoy seeing the styles that all of the hosts bring to the contest and I expect that Jake and Kath will provide some huge entertainment and suspense when hosting the results, I'm looking forward to it!

I think I missed most of the major controversies, I have been entering this contest since XIX but only really started taking the slightest bit of interest in XLII.

Without wanting to open a can of worms this is exactly how I felt earlier. I've been so ready for this contest cos I need new music and I finally found a song I love that I thought might appeal to others too. I honestly love this contest and am looking forward to the rest of this.

Sorry :( See I've only ever won this contest by sheer dumb luck. At least I gave you points though :P and I've still seen all of my winners live :D

 

I think we've all had our "moments" during hosting, mine was delaying the results start until almost midnight for the sake of a bloody radio results show that I couldn't broadcast (next time I host I'll share it for the lolz)

As I need to send a backup just in case as Silas has said in the other thread, and my backup has actually already been entered into this contest, is anyone able to listen to 3 tracks that I have got as I really can't decide between them! Hopefully I won't need to use a backup this contest anyway, but whichever I send will become my leading potential for the next contest anyway! :D

 

So if anyone is able to have a quick listen it would be very helpful!
