Reading it again, it could be a band as they refer the whole time to [unnamed artist] or [The artist], when 'This person' suits better on certain bits.

I'd give anything for it to be the Foo Fighters, but I don't think the majority of their fanbase would physical albums rather than downloads.

Maybe P!nk? She was in the studio not too long ago.

Don't tell scary stories at this time of the night,we'll never get to sleep!

Guys..............it's totes the long awaited Tina Barrett debut.
I really hope it's somebody massive that nobody predicted... A Take That comeback would be nice :)
I want it to somehow be Joe McElderry.

Hmm, can't quite see it myself. Streaming is far too important to his target demographic.

It's only right that something so life affirming should finally be part of an album.

But think of how well a Joe social media promo assault would go down!

I reckon it is gonna be the J-Lo-Pitbull duets album.

If only *.*

Not sure if it's been mentioned but any idea exactly when this is happening?

I think it'd defeat the whole point if we knew when it was happening

Maybe Danity Kane. They said that their 3rd album was ready and they have an announcement on Monday / Tuesday...
No but seriously - surely Rihanna is the OVERWHELMINGLY obvious answer here? Big online fan presence and all, overdue another album, current enough that the Beyoncé move would make sense, still (Rated R aside) yet to prove herself with a fully conceived album which this type of release would serve best, and probably looking to release an album like that to establish her status.
I am seeing Spice Girls comments on facebook. spice girls minus posh

Could this be a Rihanna and Em collab album? The use of the words 'this artist' rather than this person got me thinking it might be a band. Then I remembered that Ri and Em have those 3 gigs together this summer and it states that it might be a concert tie in.

Edit - I say this as there was rumblings late last year of a Ri and Em collab album.

I don't think the use of 'artist' is any sort of indication that it might be more than one person/a group. It's the standard term to use for something like this.
