Oh I remember seeing that picture while I was looking for something to send. It was one of the better options if I remember correctly...

We're back (by no demand whatsoever).

Here is previous entrant Max Richter with a live version of Spring 1 (the Ade Laugee Remix of which we entered into BJSC last year). He has a new EIGHT HOUR album out entitled “Sleep”, including the 18 minute mix of “Cumulonimbus” which we were politely discouraged from entering.

MEANWHILE: if you're in Semi 2 - please do the right thing, get up and help us have a party by voting for the wonderful

FANKS.

2016 has not been a good year for Cumulonimbia with only 1 song sashaying to a Top 20 finish - that being NZCA Lines’ “Two Hearts” (13th) back in January.

Anyway here is a re-cap of our five biggest finishes so far (yes we do qualify SOMETIMES):

4th; Special Request “Amnesia” (BJSC LXXX)

6th; Lovelife “Dying To Start Again” (BJSC LXVII)

12th; Fuck Buttons “Surf Solar” (BJSC LXVIII)

13th; NZCA Lines “Two Hearts” (BJSC LXXXI)

14th; Lxury “Pick You Up” (BJSC LXXI)

Which pileus is Cumulonimbia going to take up to the stratosphere next BJSC I wonder....

Perhaps an original song this time... you are good at using samples to make dance songs...perhaps involving

Len Goodman

's vocals and

Britney Spears

on Newsbeat?

Thank you to all those who voted for Martin Rott in last months edition of BJSC - we were so thrilled that others enjoyed this wonderful piece of instrumental music as much as we did. It recently made #3 on the national Cumulonimbian chart over Christmas and a special live edition was recorded by Martin in his studio in Berlin. Enjoy!

For 137 we've sent Glaswegian DJ/producer Calum MacRae aka Lanark Artefax - his brand of minimalist/experimental electronic music is really good IMO and he counts Aphex Twin and Björk among his fans.

Here's hoping we can defy the heavily stacked odds against us actually making the final.

For 145 we've sent vocalist, producer, lyricist, illustrator, designer & creative director Ivy Hollivana and “GENESIS” taken from her GENESIS EP.

Ivy Hollivana is worldwide and independent. She has traveled all across the globe playing and throwing events that showcase her signature ethereal electronic sound:

At the age of 18, Hollivana left her California home and embarked on a journey that ultimately led her to Daytona Beach and the DIY community surrounding it. By finding local events on Facebook, Hollivana was eager to perform at any type of avenue, regardless of musical genre. She wanted to be "close to" the music, attending everything from bluegrass shows to open mic nights at a smaller cafe. "I love talking to people, getting to know people, seeing what they're passionate about and that's how I got into Florida DIY," she says. "The [DIY] community is all about the love for the craft and that's what I feel the most close to." Through frequent concert going and networking, Hollivana ultimately became a renowned name in her local community, garnering a support system of artists, creators, photographers and music lovers alike.

As an artist immersed in her Central Florida DIY/ house scenes, Hollivana continues to garner traction from listeners outside of her home base, including A.G. Cook, who included the second track off Loverdiamond, "Risk," on his curated playlist of 'hyperpop' on Spotify.

“GENESIS” features production from Squidward Beats and it's fighting for qualification in Semi Final 2.
