Reid and guitarist Dan Rothman met in the dorms of Nottingham University where they began writing music together in 2009 and later added multi-instrumentalist Dot Major to complete the lineup. The following years saw them refine their sound with atmospheric electronics and subtle percussion and they often played to rooms of no more than ten people. Their popularity rose with the 2012 release of "Hey Now" which they uploaded to the internet and instantly found an online cult following. Their fans were not just in the U.K., but also on the other side of the world in Australia, where their self-released 2013 debut EP Metal & Dust reached the Top 5 of the iTunes chart. The same year they signed to Ministry of Sound and the single "Wasting My Young Years" appeared as the first release on the label. 2013 also saw them play a sold-out show at the Islington Assembly Hall and make an appearance at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2013 31 Wasting My Young Years -1- 2013 16 Strong -2- 2013 56 Help Me Lose My Mind (Disclosure Feat. March 30, 201412 yr This is growing more and more on me with each listen, I still prefer Strong though.
March 30, 201412 yr Yes London Grammar managed to hold in the Top 40 for a second week after all! :cheer: I'm shocked this has done quite well.
March 30, 201412 yr This is quite the comedown after two of my favourite tracks of the year. So very dull :(
March 30, 201412 yr oh I mustn't have been paying enough attention as I had just accepted this as going to drop right out like "Wasting My Young Years". Happy to be wrong
March 30, 201412 yr Surprised London Grammar held on, but glad it did. I wonder if another one of their songs being performed on The Voice gave this one a boost?
March 30, 201412 yr I had a feeling 'Hey Now' may have scraped a second week but thought it'd be at #40 - very surprised it's only dropped one place! Yay though

Sales: 400k+ Video here: oOAfz0H4f00 Biography R&B vocalist Jason Derülo launched his career while still in his teens, first as a songwriter for other artists and later as a solo performer. Born to Haitian parents in Miramar, Florida, Derülo started singing at an early age. He attended performing arts schools in Florida and took some early stabs at music composition, writing his first song at the age of eight. His writing skills began attracting attention, and by his teenage years, Derülo had begun scribing tracks for artists like Lil Wayne, Pitbull, and Pleasure P. He also wrote "Bossy" for Birdman, a New Orleans-based rapper, and made a guest appearance on the song, which highlighted his ability as a vocalist. After signing to a subsidiary of Warner Bros., Derülo began making the transition from behind-the-scenes songwriter to mainstream performer. His first hit arrived during the summer of 2009, when he wrapped a sample of Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" (a song made popular by its appearance in the second season finale of The O.C., as well as the Saturday Night Live sketch Dear Sister) around a sleek modern soul beat. Titled "Whatcha Say," the song topped the Billboard charts and cracked the Top Ten in multiple foreign countries, including Canada, Australia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the U.K. A second single, "In My Head," peaked at number five in America, and Derülo's full-length debut album arrived in early 2010. Future History followed in 2011, along with its hit single “Don't Wanna Go Home.” ~ Jason Thurston & Andrew Leahey, Rovi / iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2009 03 Whatcha Say -1- 2010 01 In My Head -2- 2010 02 Ridin' Solo -3- 2010 12 What If -4- 2010 51 Coming Home (Pixie Lott Feat. March 30, 201412 yr Urgh! How has this tripe climbed this week. I was looking forward to not having to listen to it today!
March 30, 201412 yr I thought the Shakira song died back in January. No, that was Arial Sharon. An easy mistake to make.
March 30, 201412 yr I hope that Shakira/Rihanna re-entry doesn't mean that Dansson & Marlon Hoffstadt have missed out on the top forty! I think Shake That has probably charted around #45-50 anyway, since it fell off pretty quickly at the end of the week
