Posted April 3, 201411 yr How was working with Pharrell? He's had such a great year. How was working with Pharrell? He's had such a great year. Yes, he's had a vintage year. [Laughs]I was really excited, because I would have loved to have worked with him years ago, so the time was meant to be for this album. It was interesting — I had a meltdown on day two in the studio, but that gave way to a fantastic song ["I Was Gonna Cancel"], which will be my second single. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/wha...e-once-20140403
April 3, 201411 yr I want Beautiful. IWGC is the worst track on the album :( Edited April 3, 201411 yr by Regina
April 3, 201411 yr Better choice than 'Beautiful' if you ask me! I think it's one of the highlights on the album and, whilst he's not officially credited, Pharrell's sound is noticeable and may pick up a few more sales (although it's obvious this isn't the next 'Blurred Lines' or 'Happy' etc.). Something a little different from Kylie too.
April 3, 201411 yr Ugh this is terrible. Some of his production work is admittedly good but I'm not a fan of this song at all, 3 or 4 out of 10 material.
April 3, 201411 yr Oh dear, what an awful choice! Hope she's not expecting to get a quick cash-in because Pharrell's involved. Didn't work that great for Paloma... ('Beautiful', 'Sexy Love' and 'Feels So Good' are much better options :drama:)
April 3, 201411 yr It's not the best choice, but I guess they're relying on the Pharrell association and it could be worse. MUCH better than 'Beautiful' at least. I suppose this could come to life with a brilliant video. Edited April 3, 201411 yr by mr_aly
April 4, 201411 yr Beautiful would've had better airplay, even feels so good or les sex would've done well, but I can't see IWGC being played by radio a lot
April 4, 201411 yr I'm happy enough with this choice - it's certainly more preferential than 'Beautiful'. It's not one of my personal favourite tracks from the album, however I do think it's one of the most single-worthy sounding tracks on there. There are tracks I prefer which I know wouldn't work very well as singles.
April 4, 201411 yr Wonder why they dropped the bullet on "Beautiful"?! They saw sense and realised it'd be a huge disaster.
April 4, 201411 yr I think it's a great song/single choice, nothing's going to be a hit for her anyway!
April 4, 201411 yr They saw sense and realised it'd be a huge disaster. Hardly. It'd probably go top 20, but it wouldn't be a "huge disaster" when this is probably unlikely to do anything that 'Beautiful' wouldn't have.
April 4, 201411 yr Oh dear. Its possibly the worst song on the album. I think they have clearly chosen this due to the Pharrel influences after the dire performance of ITB. I actually don't think it will do very well neither.
April 4, 201411 yr Hardly. It'd probably go top 20, but it wouldn't be a "huge disaster" when this is probably unlikely to do anything that 'Beautiful' wouldn't have. This has #36 smash written all over it, 'Beautiful' has #77 smash written all over it.
April 4, 201411 yr Terrible decision, I Was Gonna Cancel and Beautiful are the 2 worst tracks on the album, i cant see anything but a flop for the single. Kylie has a habit of making great albums but the label make terrible decisions in relation to what they release as of late, All the Lovers the only exception to the rule. The only thing that will save I Was Gonna Cancel is a Pharrell feature.
April 4, 201411 yr This has #36 smash written all over it, 'Beautiful' has #77 smash written all over it. I sense IWGC has a #14 smash all over it so I feel more optimistic.
April 4, 201411 yr I sense IWGC has a #14 smash all over it so I feel more optimistic. I sense that I am having pizza for dinner, but I don't think I am on the same wave length.
