Splendid my dear. How are you? I would ask if you're enjoying the weather but we're all indoors discussing the chart (as is the Buzzjack way), so NEVER MIND.

Ah good to hear! I'm fab thank you :D I keep popping outside, but the chart lures me back in……!

"There's no sign of Austrian winner Conchita Wurst's Rise Like A Phoenix nor the entries from Sweden, Iceland, Malta, Finland or indeed any of the others. The main reason seems to be not that they aren't selling but that iTunes data for Saturday was not available to OCC for compiling the chart this week, which meant they had to upweight data from earlier in the week to compensate - a sensible solution which occurs whenever necessary but one which is unfortunate on this occasion, as many Eurovision entries would have had sudden and dramatic increases in sales on Saturday."

From MW

So they basicly just made up the numbers going by the first part of the week but decided to leave the Eurovision songs out?

(Not sure if I'm reading this as it's meant to so that's why I ask )

How was Emmelie De Forest's "Rainmaker" doing on iTunes?
this sounds alright on first listen. Not a fan of the 'wait till album has significant pre-orders then drop instant grat so it charts highly' tactic that seems to be happening however.
This is not his best song but it sounds decent. It's quite emotional song. Ellie Goulding is his muse...?

They didn't 'decide to leave the Eurovision songs out', they used scaled data from earlier in the week which did not reflect the 'back-loaded' sales of the Eurovision songs.

First time hearing 'One'. Fairly pleasant but very album track-y, 'Sing' is far better and I'm very glad he went with an uptempo-ish song as the actual lead single. I didn't want him to abandon this sound entirely but he'd really risk appearing to be a one trick pony if he kept releasing singles like this.

It seems to be more a case of not having any meaningful data on which to base their estimate. The songs will have recede more of a boost than other songs on Saturday but the OCC have no real way of knowing how much of a boost.

boring ~ but tbf i generally find mr sheeran tediously dull

Biography

Australian rock band 5 Seconds to Summer make ebullient, high-energy music that straddles the line between '90s punk-pop and 1000s boy-band pop. Formed in 2011, the band features fellow Norwest Christian College grads Luke Hemmings (lead vocals/guitar), Michael Clifford (guitar/vocals), Calum Hood (bass/vocals), and Ashton Irwin (drums/vocals). The band uploaded several videos to Youtube and quickly caught the attention of Sony, who signed the band to a publishing deal. In 2012, 5 Seconds to Summer released two EPs including Unplugged and Somewhere New. The following year, the band received a further boost after they were asked to open for Britain's One Direction on tour. That same year they signed a record deal with Capitol, and in 2014, 5 Seconds to Summer released their third EP, She Looks So Perfect. - iTunes
