I thought I'd put this here as the Now thread is going to get too big soon, so I think it's better to make new threads for the Now albums for the meantime. A mod can merge if they want.

"Anyone looking forward to seeing the NOW 88 artwork soon?!"

I am!!!!

It's always good to see the artwork for the Now CD's. They're already teasing it on social media, so I guess it will be revealed within the next few weeks.

I am more interested in the track listing and seeing if they've managed to come to an agreement with Warner about using their songs. I hope so! There are too many hits missing off it otherwise. Listening to Now 87, I get the feeling some of the tracks featured are already forgotten, so I'm hoping they will sort something out.

Who's on Warner that might be included?
Klingande are under exclusive licence to Warner according to iTunes.
Kiesza's on an independent label but she might do a Macklemore. Not having that on will hugely affect the sales, like not including Rather Be must have done for 87.
That cover's been around for years I think.
That is way too blurry to be authentic isn't it? Besides they'll do multicoloured somethings around the logo as per, with only a few exceptions over the past 30 volumes. 74 and 86 are the only ones I remember that were particularly different.
I don't think that artwork is official. Now haven't posted it on their facebook or twitter as of yet.

I can totally see a "Top Hits 2" in the near future :( If that does happen, I demand a CD format!

If Warner do come back, do you think they'll add Rather Be as a late inclusion, perhaps?

As for artists on Warner, I know Charli XCX is a Warner artist and she features on "Fancy" by Iggy. It might do a "Stay the Night" and not be added because the featured artist is on a Warner label.

Rather Be might get included on 88 or 89? Or has the practice of delaying huge songs disappeared altogether?

The Cave by Mumford & Sons was put on a Now album a year after release for no apparent reason so anything could happen!

That was because of their success at the BRIT awards I believe, which I think made it become a hit the second time around (although I'm not sure it made the top 40 again oddly). I was happy at the time, alas that was when I used to like them, sigh :(

I dunno if Clean Bandit will be added unless these label issues are sorted out, I do hope it does as this could become a problem for future Now editions.

WHAT A COVER!

It's not that good, is it?

I'm still wondering which songs won't make it. Coldplay are signed to Warner. As is T.I, imagine if Blurred Lines didn't make Now 85 because of that!

That is a pretty good cover to be fair. Along with Now 86, one of the best of the last few years.

T.I. didn't even appear when they got the rights to Warner artists, it was the No Rap version (which they add on EVERY SINGLE SPIN-OFF).

I think Warner will come back, it was probably just a budget thing perhaps.
