You know what we need in the charts? Rock with added rap.

There's even a dance remix of it :magic:

Alas, not even top 1500 :(

Of course people are going to defend the genre that they love doing well to the death, and that's because they're happy that it's doing well. Criticism about it can seem annoying to some who are trying to enjoy their genre's moment, and that's why it can end up in belittling to prove their point amongst other things.

That opinion is so stupid. Reason: I disagree with it.

 Hopefully it has amazing first week sales. Great performance on BGT.

Big boost. I think it could reach top 30 on pre-orders, which is amazing! They really should bring the release forward to this Sunday.

That's a very quick climb into the top 50 which was my initial prediction! :o Looks like top 30 could be possible then! :D

(Also, a big annoyance is that Disclosure helped to push house music into the charts yet they have yet to score a Number 1. ALSO, Real by Gorgon City could have easily be released this year and have got to Number 1 yet it missed the Top 40 and that was only a YEAR ago!.)

Maybe Gorgon City could do a Clarity and re-release Real after Here For You comes and goes, it sounds like a big hit but it sadly missed its chance by being released before songs of that type really blew up.

G'won Ella Henderson! If there's one X Factor artist from the past few years I'd like to see do well, it's her.

Yes, of course, BJ just love female popstars and we're all boring because blah blah blah. Really?

You don't seem to have noticed that you're only defence in this debate is by trashing the opinions of others and resorting to stereotyping the entire forum just because 1 or 2 share different opinions to yours.

I like female artists. Pink, Dido and Anastacia are just lovely. I also happen to like more male artists than female (Maroon 5, Matt Cardle, Arctic Monkeys, The killers, Stereophonics, Eminem, to name a few). So don't just stick a huge stamp on me or anyone else. It screams ignorance.

I read (quite religiously) this forum for around 6 years before finally becoming a member and I can assure you that from the average readers eyes a lot of members do comment mostly on female pop stars.

I said reading the comments used to get tiring, I never labeled any members as being boring. Nor have I stereotyped any one in this forum?

Obviously something has hit a nerve with you, but please don't resort to sarcasm and talk down to me in that condescending manner. I will happily give you the argument that you're obviously craving for over PM until the early hours if you wish, but there's a different between a friendly debate and paragraphs of eyesores for other members.

I don't want to argue. I just want you to stop putting everyone in one box and realise their opinions are as valid as yours.

Shakespears Sister 'Stay' is back  #55

ooh Sam Smith is catching up :o when all 3 versions are combined

BGT Effect:

36. Ella Henderson - Ghost [Pre-order]

143. Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child (Radio Edit) [feat. John Martin] [& 430, 658, 1411]

158. Alfie Boe - Bring Him Home

222. Luke Bryan - Country Girl (Shake It For Me)

512. Hugh Jackman - Bring Him Home

1005. Colm Wilkinson - Bring Him Home

I think there's an outside chance of Sam Smith actually holding onto #1 now as he seems to be catching up already - although, it's also possible that Secondcity have already built up an insurmountable lead anyway (like DVBBS/5SOS/Calvin). Guess we'll find out about that tomorrow.
I agree, Sam also has another version in the top 40 already so I think he's got a chance. I think Secondcity will still get it quite easily though but we'll see!

kinda reminds me of The Monster catching up with Look Right Through on the week of Eminem's album release (Secondcity will probably still keep the #1 like Storm Queen did though). i think Stay With Me will have pretty big longevity anyway tbh

I don't recall ever putting everyone in one box. The only statements I've said since joining this forum is that a lot of members post comments on female pop stars, and that it's narrow minded to think a song is not chart worthy because it's not released by a well known act.

Both of which have been agreed with from various other members, so that in its self is obviously going to stop me from "putting everyone in one box".

I had actually moved on from the subject until you posted, and I'm not going to justify myself any more to you, as it makes for very boring reading.

I'm hoping for a 'Don't You Worry Child' rise, and for that extra push to sell over a million.

I can't recall the exact figure but I'm sure I remember it being quite near no?

insurmountable

What a brilliant word!

Sam up to 0.9353 on Kworb (up from 0.9110) when combined and will no doubt continue to increase. I'm not sure if he'll claw it back over Secondcity though!
