August 2, 201410 yr Author 130. Anastacia - Left Outside Alone (2004) uzR5jM9UeJA I didn't even realise how much I liked this until quite recently! It's all a bit dramatic with the build up but to be honest she kills it vocally, over-dramatic or not. Her voice is so interesting as she pours her heart out in this song. Very intense but in a great, gripping way. 129. Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks (2012) ghb6eDopW8I Ooh I fell in love with this after just one listen on radio one. I ADORE the vocalists on this song and the melody is so infectious as well. Although quite sad really that what she rememberS - as in the past - is the little talks between her and a special guy, I cannot view this as anything other than a happy song as it brings me so much joy when listening to it. Really unusual video as well! 128. Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble. (2012) vNoKguSdy4Y Besides 'You Belong With Me' I actually found Taylor Swift very overrated, even quite grating, only being reiterated with comeback single 'We Are Never Getting Back Together' with the faux accents and all. Which is why I was so surprised that I actually quite LOVED this. A decidedly different style for someone known predominately as a country star, this track was even featuring a bit of dubstep! I wasn't even huge on dubstep when it was the craze, but it manages to work here. Very intense chorus but in a kind of 'good-on-you-girl' way that really has me rooting for her. What a song! 127. Eminem - Lose Yourself (2002) bmXumtgwtak My only ounce of street cred is that I know the entire rap of this song ;) But seriously this really is something really quite special, more of a heartfelt moment for the usually angry or jokey rapper. The lyrics are extremely inspiring and I'm sure they've actually spoken to quite a few people. Really great pounding production alongside as well. OH MY GOSH in the extended version also where there's the gorgeous piano part before the song starts *.* Stunning, what a classic. 126. Mike Oldfield - Moonlight Shadow (1983) e80qhyovOnA This seems a bit odd after all those noughties songs  Anyway, although lots of people say this is about the late and great John Lennon due to the fact that some of the lyrics can relate to the situation, and because it was only less than three years after his tragic assassination, it still doesn't stop me enjoying it. It's so melancholic yet so hauntingly beautiful, courtesy of gorgeous vocals by Maggie Reilly. It gets the title of my favourite ever 80's song. 125. Rudimental ft. John Newman - Feel the Love (2012) oABEGc8Dus0 I didn't actually think that this was all that at first whilst it was being hammered on radio 1, finding John Newman's vocals a bit grating. However, this soon enough became a summer anthem for me. They were really onto something with that hook, just so catchy and the production works so incredibly well. I also started to appreciate John's vocals more as well, making me love the entire package. 124. Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles (2002) Cwkej79U3ek Ahhh good old one hit wonder Vanessa Carlton. But who cares, when your one hit was this good! That piano melody really is stunning and completely overshadows anything else about the song. Still, the lyrics themselves are soppy but endearing enough. The moving piano video was quite a cool concept as well. 123. Shakespeare's Sister - Stay (1992) _eXw47qb4U0 Well, isn't this just a tad haunting! That vocal delivery seriously gives me chills every single time, Cher Lloyd's version whilst good could never come close! I've used this word a lot recently but this really is very INTENSE. Then the 'You better hope and pray' transition is even quite SULTRY but keeps the intensity. A huge whirlwind of emotions but what a song. 122. Jem - They (2005) qSLvcJ4I1mw Okay well this section seems to be featuring a lot of haunting songs. But yet again this really is, with the almost eerie backing 'ba-ba-dum' vocals and Jem asking us so many questions 'Who are they? where are they?' and apologising to us. This scored Jem their/her(?) first and only top 10 hit in the U.K. After hearing Jem's quote about the song itself, it sounds like a song written about how society has us all going by these certain beliefs and is brainwashing us and all that, a very real message that she gets across. 121. Bodyrox ft. Luciana - Yeah Yeah (2006) 2l5FSlD8U1o Ooh I love a bit of 'Yeah Yeah'! It's just so in-your-face but in a totally good way. The production is absolutely HUGE and compliments the rather simplistic lyrics courtesy of Luciana and her feisty delivery. It's just so infectious and an absolute tune! I used to find it a bit grating back in the day but grew to absolutely love it, so much better than the song they did with N-Dubz as sweet as the message was, I just prefer the brilliant production! August 2, 201410 yr Author Stay  such a gorgeous song. Left Outside Alone is such a great powerful track too. Ooh tell me about it Liam, one of the most stunning songs I've ever had the pleasure of listening to in my life. YES for 'Left Outside Alone' as well, her biggest song and rightfully so. Thank you for commenting!
August 2, 201410 yr On Melancholy Hill  Such a beautiful track. If there's more Gorillaz to come, count me in. Lovely stuff with My Happy Ending, Little Talks, Moonlight Shadow and A Thousand Miles especially in the last couple of sections too, amongst others, I'll try to keep an eye on this.

August 3, 201410 yr I knew you were trouble I could hear from my sisters bedroom earlier :kink: that's become one of Taylor's best for me now so thrilled to see it in your countdown. Little Talks is brilliant. Deserved top 5 in the official charts though :( Lose Yourse definitely amongst Eminem's best for me too. Anastacia has a wonderful back catalogue and Left Outside Alone is no different. Amazing. Feel The Love perhaps the best dance track of 2012  and Stay is ICONIC! stupid fact but I didn't know she (the scary one) was a former Bananarama before becoming one half of SS. This song gives me legitimate chills especially with that video lol. Personally too low imo but pleased it's in here :) Excellent section Jade, Happy Birthday btw ^_^ Edited August 3, 201410 yr by Rob Steel

This song gives me legitimate chills especially with that video lol. Personally too low imo but pleased it's in here :) Excellent section Jade, Happy Birthday btw ^_^ Haha aw well it's fab that your sister seemingly has good taste! My brother unfortunately hammers the same songs over and over and they're usually the 5/10 type. Well as you can see from my commentary it IS her best for me, just such an unexpected but welcome turn of direction! Glad to see you're feeling it too. Yeah 'Little Talks' really is something special, it seemed to keep getting little boosts here and there (The Voice does have impact *.*) but no catapulting into the top 5. Still, it has loads of view on YouTube and the youth are loving YT so that's where it's AT. Yes 'Lose Yourself' is all kinds of wonderful! Not QUITE my favourite Eminem song though, there's still one more to come, and it's pretty iconic. I actually don't know that much of Anastacia's back catalogue (sorry Regina) all I know is that she rocks those sunglasses indoors and that 'Left Outside Alone' is just fantastic so i'm with you on that one. 2012 was quite a disappointing year for me on the whole where music is concerned BUT YES 'Feel the Love' probably did blow all other dance songs out of the water that year unless there's something I'm forgetting. 'Stay' really is breathtaking, and well I never :o I didn't know that, thanks for that one! Aha yeah looking back it is a bit low considering how much I love it but there's just TOO many songs I'm passionate about, anything in this countdown is at least a 9.5/10 for me though so it's definitely doing something right. Thank you so much! Apologies for this erratically rambly reply, I guess the wonderfulness of today has made me very perky. Thank you btw for the happy birthday, I only just saw this now! Thank you for commenting  and reminding me to stop slacking on this, that top 120 is coming PRONTO. (hopefully)
August 5, 201410 yr Fantastic section Really like stay, feel the love and left outside alone Love love Little Talks. Such an amazing song that was one of not many songs I bought last year And Taylor    I Knew You Were Trouble is also one of her best ever- possibly even her best (we will see when my countdown should start next week). Love that song so much
August 5, 201410 yr plenty more classics and number one faves from my charts (Oldfield, Killers, Of Monsters, Mel C, Shakespear's and many many more), and a few I underappreciated like Teenage Dream - it was that Glee performance that made me realise what a great SONG it was, one of Katy's best hits.
August 5, 201410 yr 130. Anastacia - Left Outside Alone (2004) - Now 58! 128. Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble. (2012) - Now 84! 126. Mike Oldfield - Moonlight Shadow (1983) - Now That's What I Call Music! - Also, what a brilliant song, love it! 125. Rudimental ft. John Newman - Feel the Love (2012) - Now 82! 124. Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles (2002) - Now 53! - Also, I couldn't agree more! She's such a great musician! 123. Shakespeare's Sister - Stay (1992) - Now 21! - Also, love this song. It was No.1 when I was born! So glad I wasn't born into this world with a novelty gathering airtime! 122. Jem - They (2005) - Now 61! 121. Bodyrox ft. Luciana - Yeah Yeah (2006) - Now 65! - Also, I adore this tune! Was obsessed with it back when it first came out! Video is so risky too! I also have this on CD single! Love these tunes!
August 5, 201410 yr Author Thanks guys for the lovely comments, would've replied individually but thought I might as well get this next bit done now as it's been a few days :P 120. John Newman - Love Me Again (2013) CfihYWRWRTQ Well I was a bit of a John Newman loon in the summer of last year (although not quite to the extent of participating in THAT iTunes thread) based off of this song alone. Anyway, this ended up coming at number two in my end of year chart last year, I really liked it due to the fact that it was quite a soulful dance track, but sadly the rest of his album would not measure up to the standard of this, apart from the fact that I actually do quite like 'Losing Sleep'. I did actually really like 'Cheating' last year but I've gone right off it. This song still remains wonderful though! 119. Olly Murs - Please Don't Let Me Go (2010) -4S9gQb9PjM Aw, I very much remember this coming out just as my teenage years were beginning. I wasn't actually all that fussed about Olly when he was X Factor (I mean I wanted him to win, but that's because I liked Joe even less) but this song made me sit up and take notice. I was one of those fully fledged fangirls that you see nowadays for the likes of 1D, I was so obsessed with him, I'm pretty sure I screamed the house down when he followed me on twitter. Those were the days. ANYWAY, this remains as pleasant as ever - Olly's first single that he wrote himself, a lovely piece of reggae-tinged pop. 118. Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around...Comes Around (2007) TOrnUquxtwA This has actually made me realise how much of Justin Timberlakes discography I really quite like. 2007's 'Karma Chameleon' although not quite as highly regarded, but obviously this comparison stemming from the subject matter. It's all in the title 'What Goes Around...Comes Around'. It's one of those songs that just gets straight to the point, but also has excellent delivery and brilliant production to coincide. 117. Busted - Year 3000 (2003) ZCPUI1ShHx4 Ooh these last few songs are all rather nostalgic! This is the earliest song that I remember being new at the time. My parents owned their album and I'd play it all the time before school. I also remember my two neighbours fighting over Charlie and giving me whoever was left over (I was like 6 though so probably didn't care). ANYWAY, onto the song now! It's just one of those childhood songs that'll stick with me forever, just a really fun concept about the future and such infectious lyrics. Like 5SOS 10 years their senior! 116. Justin Timberlake - Cry Me a River (2003) DksSPZTZES0 Well whaddya know, two JT songs in the same section. This is about the best thing you can get out of a break-up with buzzjack fave Britney. This is a 'sucks to be you, you'll be sorry you ever got rid of me' song, and JT gets it across with such conviction and a killer chorus and production to boot. The guy making the weird noise at the end though is a bit bizarre. 115. MIKA - Grace Kelly (2007) EaEPCsQ4608 A track written out of frustration that he was being shaped as a stereotypical popstar by record labels, MIKA hits them back with this. It seems pretty obvious who won. He left a very flamboyant mark on the charts, but a brilliant (and slightly overplayed) one at that. 'Grace Kelly' although doesn't have all that much to do with the golden age actress apart from the name drop, still has all the makings of a great pop song. Extremely catchy with a huge chorus and a big character with a real story behind the words was enough for me. 114. Sugababes - Hole In The Head (2003) Lf0tUnUB27I Sugababes 2.0 was where is was at! Gosh they churned out pop brilliance after pop brilliance, they really do have such a strong discography. This was a personal favourite from said discography. I've used this word a lot but gosh isn't this catchy. Very feisty and infectious, and Keisha kills it on vocals. The 'Angels With Dirty Faces' and '3' eras were just unbeatable. 113. Rolling Stones - Paint It, Black (1966) 9Uj9sduV3k8 From a girl group to a now-man band. Firstly, I've gotta say THAT sitar riff is just everything. It's basically what makes the song to be honest. It's really quite dark and mysterious, but the lyrics themselves are just that as well. Extremely well-executed lyrics too, I'm swept away in this rather breath-taking situation. Cheers to when I'd constantly play Guitar Hero for introducing to me to this classic. 112. Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull - On The Floor (2011) t4H_Zoh7G5A I'm pretty sure around the release week of this was when I first started to visit the iTunes thread. This really was quite the comeback, I was utterly obsessed with it at the time. Not even the inclusion of Pitbull could hinder this. I love the production, the bridge and the chorus ever so much. However simplistic the lyrics of the chorus are, following the bridge it just feels SO euphoric. Plus she looked a million dollars in the video. Bravo JLo. 111. Kanye West - Stronger (2007) PsO6ZnUZI0g Before the exposure of him and 'Kimye', he did make really good music. Don't get me wrong, he still does now (see: 'Black Skinhead', 'Blood On the Leaves' & 'Bound 2') but what I mean was he made excellent music even BEFORE he became a bit of an icon. 'Stronger' is quite motivational really, as are all songs I can think of called 'Stronger' (See Britney, Kelly & Sugababes) and I think he incorporates the Daft Punk sample really well, so much so that I personally think it enhances the original. Excellent production as well. Edited August 5, 201410 yr by Jade
August 5, 201410 yr Haha I only just started learning Paint it black on guitar :P gotta say I know it the least of any Rolling Stones song I can recall. Oops. every song there though is fantastic especially Busted who's album I played in the car around Christmas time last year. So many pop classics from them. Love Me Again of course is amazing. Shame that's his only huge solo hit though :( Losing Sleep deserved much better :( Hole in the head is my favourite Sugababes track of that period so I'm glad to see it as one of their supposed appearances in your countdown. Ooh I'm so jealous, I wish I could play the guitar, let alone play 'Paint It, Black'! I tried but I could never properly get into it unlike my dad who is brilliant at the guitar. Oh fair enough, they do have a lot of tracks! It was a no.1 though! Aw wow that's incredible that you like every song here, we must be very musically compatible! Omg I just completely read that entire sentence wrong and thought you said Busted had an album of Christmas classics, and then I saw 'One More Sleep' Oh dear! ANYWAY yes their debut is incredible, especially obviously 'Year 3000', 'You Said No' & 'Sleeping With the Light On' Yes it is and I know, Losing Sleep was actually really good, I was actually shocked it didn't go top 40! Can't believe how quickly his decline was. Yes for a while 'Hole In the Head WAS my favourite SB song but I think I just got a BIT tired of it so hence the lower position, still here though because obviously I do appreciate how good it is. Thank you for commenting! Like most of those songs The standouts are on the floor and grace Kelly. Love those 2 so much Glad to hear that you're liking a fair amount! Ooh I see you love your pop number 1's, both fabulous though! Thank you for commenting

August 6, 201410 yr Interesting that On The Floor is your earliest iTunes thread memory, coincidentally On The Floor was my earliest memory of Livepopbars   I was obsessed too, listened to it for hours the night it premiered and that's something I never do! Such an anthem.
