It's SUCH an Avicii rip-off also, so uninspired.

That's because Avicii is one of the producers on it

lol this is exactly what I thought when I first heard it, but then I found out that he co-produced it. Whilst I didn't like Wake Me Up very much, I did at least appreciate that Avicii tried something a bit different, but if every dance-pop producer starts doing this country/folk kind of thing it'll get quite annoying.

I hope the song is out next week, as it's not THAT high on pre-orders that it guarantees a #1, but if it's out later it looks like it'll get there. :(

Lovers on the Sun is definitely uninspiring. I kinda like it but it's so obvious he's ripping off Wake Me Up in order to get a cheap hit :( You can do better than this David

Makes sense  Still sounds exactly like Wake Me Up/Hey Brother, Avicii can do better than rip-off his own songs.

Lovers On The Sun really is the much worse version of Wake Me Up, which is an achievement in itself :drama:
Did this song ever get into the top 40 in the UK? it was quite a big tune a few years ago:

No it didn't make the Top40. It got to #47 back in 2005.

And this week's oddball track to appear later Katy Perry 'Roar' :cheer: it was used in Eastenders tonight :D
I actually wouldn't mind 'Lovers On The Sun' going to #1. I much prefer it the 'Wake Me Up' and 'Hey Brother' (not as much as the other big country-dance song though, 'Timber'), I am shocked at how well the pre-order is doing though! I would have thought these types of songs were past their sell by date now...
Just heard Ben Howard's new single on Zane Lowe - it's been a long time waiting but worth the wait 7min 43sec of pure brilliance. Hope it does well!! Maybe a early release?!
'Lovers On The Sun' is nice but not even close to as good or original as 'Shot Me Down' (unpopular opinion, I know) or 'Bad'. Wouldn't be shocked in any way if it does hit #1 though.

Surely 'Shot Me Down' is equally (at least) unoriginal in the way it's a sloppy cover that copied the backing track of 'Animals' so shamelessly?

I really enjoyed 'Bad', but he's becoming the new Cascada in the way he rips off recent hits so much.

Wait I think I phrased that wrong, those are pretty unoriginal  I forgot about the Animals similarity. I guess 'Blast Off' is relatively original in a absolutely-awful-sounding-tripe kind of way.

wow a song that's basically just Wake Me Up 2.0 (except nowhere as good) but with David Guetta's name attached to it, selling by the truckload? colour me well & truly shocked.

He was right to pull 'Blast Off' as a single, it would of flopped and after 'Bad' underperforming I think it would of been the final straw for the likes of Radio 1 to look at his music. Whilst it's not original, 'Lovers On The Sun' is a great familiar feel good pop/dance record that people enjoy, hence why it's doing well on pre-orders. I hope his new album has one or two big hits waiting for us. I can't believe it's been 3 years since Nothing But The Beat came out! :o

It's not even doing that well though, it might get to #1 on account of there being nothing bigger out the same week but its pre-order isn't exactly indicating a massive seller (unless it picks up a lot next week).

but for some genuine surprise, Vandaag springing back up into the top 10! thought it'd just kinda trail off from here. shows this easily could've peaked as high as Jubel/Changes with the same support

I HAVE A DREAM, THAT ONE DAY.........Capital & Radio 1 will realise their silly mistake and playlist this song!!

I think Radio 1 will brush it under the carpet now, but Capital/Kiss will probably jump on the bandwagon.
