I predict that Lauren will have ''issues'' during the week trying to sing that song and use it as an excuse for her being rubbish.

I thought Lauren was "doing a ballad but changing it to uptempo"? To me it sounds like she's going to do the opposite and do what she's been doing all contest! :(

 

Also, on paper Ben's choice is disastrous, but I think he'll pull it off. Hopefully OTY get the last slot they are yet to close the show. I dunno how their acousticy, audition version will come across in the studio/live stages though. Hopefully they'll make it magic again!

Brian just said uptempo ballad for Lauren, which I assumed was a ballad changed to uptempo but obviously not! Strange choice of phrasing anyway :P She's dancing so she won't be doing a ballad, it will at least be like her version of Happy and have an uptempo part. Even if it's just a little jerk to the side like Dark Horse, she wouldn't dance if it was the same version as her arena audition :P That would look stupid tbf.

Ben's just doesn't work for me as the song has sparse lyrics but it works as Whit belts them, his sounds a little empty from the clip.

 

Feel a little for OTY, their version at auditions sounded much better than this, they have sped it up and have some horrible backing track to it, could really be in danger.

 

Fleur, hard to gauge anything from her clip, apart from it being a bit karaoke.

 

Andrea, suits him and from the preview he doesn't over sing it and keeps the melody, might be one of his stronger weeks.

 

SKs 30 sec clip is only James singing, I mean he is nailing it in the clip but it is kind of laughable they have 8 members.

 

Lauren's starts off boring, kicks in and it still seems boring, she really just doesn't excite me at all.

 

Stevi, this must be his week to leave, the backing track sounds so lifeless compared to the original and it sounds slightly slower. If he is on in the first half of the show he is surely gone.

 

Stevi will hopefully go tonight so we have a proper sing off tomorrow, as he is bound to go in the sing off with anyone else now. OTY in theory should have been ok with that song, but it is a horrible sped up mess.

 

I'd say this is the week Lauren drops into the bottom 3 if she isn't on last as I think SK have over taken her.

Fleur's does sound a bit more karaoke than her usual performances, but I'm sure as a whole performance it'll work. Lauren's just says it's a pre-order for me though so I can't see it :(

That was the moment I was like "yep she's got this won" and she did, despite landing in the bottom 3 times and only being saved by deadlock the latter two times! Mel was a judge then too so I assume this is her brainwave for Andrea. But it won't be as good, Samantha's performance just owned that song <3

I've voted for Heartless, Don't You Worry Child, Against All Odds, Thinking Out Loud and Family Portrait. I really hope 'Family Portrait' wins, but I doubt it will. :(

I don't have the app, but if I did, I'd vote 'Heartless' for Andrea, 'Don't You Worry Child' for Lauren, 'Run' for Stereo Kicks, 'With A Little Help From My Friends' for Ben and 'Family Portrait' for Fleur.

Andrea - Hero (I considered Heartless to see his take on it but I really think he should stick with the diva ballads and Hero is one of my faves anyway)

Lauren - Don't You Worry Child (Becoming an X Factor favourite somewhat, I think she'd be far more suited to this than the other options)

Stereo kicks - Against All Odds (I don't want them touching Fix You, and I don't really care from the other 2 but Run is an overrated track)

Ben - With A Little Help From My Friends (Basically didn't want Thinking Out Loud getting another chart boost :lol: and don't think I even know the other track)

Fleur - Family Portrait (I had to double take when I saw this on the list, Fleur singing this could be amazing!)

Well that is Andrea done unless his 2nd song is a killer. He was always going to get Hero though, I'd expect a lot of the voters hadn't heard Heartless and Hero was always going to win out over Respect. I'd think that is why those 3 songs were chosen so that Hero would be picked and they can call him a 1 trick pony even more.

No Family Portrait for Fleur :( She's been given If I Ain't Git You. Still good, but I wanted FP so bad :(

How on earth can you say OTY have more potential as recording artists? As far as I can see it is SK who are doing better recently with itunes positions after their performances, youtube views and likes.

 

I don't know why so many on here seem to think anyone needs a new Steps, there is a reason there isn't a 21st century Steps.

What do Stereo Kicks offer that the other successful boybands in the industry don't? Just because there are 8 of them? Only one can actually sing!

 

Only the Young may not be strong singers but they can offer something new seeing as though they are likeable and look well/work well as a group. X Factor sometimes limits artists as they can't do the sound that they would be as artists. Only the Young could do really well if they do the right material and find the right style. There is a gap in the market for them. There is not a gap in the market for Stereo Kicks.

Apparently Fleur absolutely nailed if I Ain't Got You in vocal rehearsals! I really hope this is the performance that proves all the doubters of her voice wrong.

 

Also, Don't You Worry Child has been chosen for Lauren. I wonder if she'll "John Lewis" it or do it properly... Good choice anyway imo.
