If she does withdraw then that'll mess up the schedule as surely they can't have a results show with no-one getting eliminated? I think she'll be made to perform unless she really can't do it

They could just allow voting for her without performing? Maybe just scramble together a sympathy VT of her struggling in rehearsals etc. I can't see what else will happen at this stage if she is ill. Hopefully it's just a rumour though.

The second set of songs were picked by Sam Smith, One Direction, Little Mix, Emeli Sande and Tulisa.

Andrea: Chandelier by Sia (Picked by Sam Smith)

Ben: Come Together by The Beatles (Picked by One Direction)

Fleur: A Fool in Love by Tina Turner (Picked by Emeli Sande)

Lauren: Clarity by Zedd feat Foxes (Picked by Little Mix)

Stereo Kicks: Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars (Picked by Tulisa)

Actually some really good choices there! Intrigued to hear Andrea singing Chandlier & Lauren singing Clarity (no doubt it will a John Lewis adaptation though)

And I might actually enjoy a Ben performance as I love Come Together and think this may be a track that will suit him well. Stereo Kicks will be typically uninspiring and statuesque though.

One Direction can f*** off, nobody beats Olly singing that. Although it suits Ben more than anything has for weeks so this may actually not be painful :o A Fool In Love was performed by Olly too  But Fleur will smash that <3 This is surely her week

Andrea singing Chandelier though?! I don't think he can do that, as great as his voice is :/ And ANOTHER ballad for SK - they are basically Westlife at this point  Clarity is great for Lauren, will be interesting to see her perform two dance songs as long as they're both done "properly" (I wouldn't mind if she did one or the other as a ballad tbf) - if she does perform that is :P

I think he'll be able to belt the chorus ok, but he'll struggle with the contrast between the low, subtle verses and the huge chorus, but we'll see.

He could be in trouble again this week (unless the bottom 2 appearance was down to people thinking he's safe rather him having a lack of fans), the dated diva ballads were his problem in the first place and Chandelier could be a total mess potentially :/ Hopefully it's SK though, I hate them and Ben but at least Ben attempts a couple of different styles. They've done way too many dated Westlife-esque ballads, even when the songs are modern they make them feel like they're straight from the 90s! Of course it depends how the performances go.

I think Fleur and Ben are in the strongest position based on song choices. Ben has a current megahit that's maybe slightly out of his comfort zone and a crowd pleaser that's right up his street, whilst Fleur will be able to prove her vocal ability with If I Ain't Got You and them perform the hell of A Fool In Love. I'm sure she'll really mould the latter to her style too.

Not sure how i feel about 'Chandelier' being sung. I mean it IS one of my songs of the year but i fear it may be castrated live on stage by Andrea

Hopefully he does it justice..

wow Little Mix have some TAYSTE. Clarity is a great choice for her anyway especially if they turn it into a ballad. Also intrigued as to if Andrea can make Chandelier work, as that is a big song (I know he's sang Whitney before but this is different)

Hasn't everyone been asking for Andrea to do something different and modern, so he gets a modern and different song and you all hate it already :P

Personally I cant stand Sia's voice, so hope the song sounds better with Andrea singing it.

SK songs are basically picked to appeal to 10-18 year old girls

Ben's might as well be labeled 'songs to make your mum vote for me'

Lauren is going to ballad the shit out of those poor songs.

Fleur has one predictable song in the Alicia Keys one but not sure anyone is here for a Tina Turner middle of the road song.

On the face of it it seems a few interesting choices but I feel like each act will just make each version a watered down to suit their audience mess.

Some really great song choices there! I think Lauren would do really well with "Clarity". Hopefully she sings and isn't ill.
'Clarity' should work for Lauren in the original form, she won't need to make it a ballad. If she keeps it in the original form, she could have her Rebecca Fergusson - Show Me Love type moment I think.
To be fair that is definitely what they desperately want to happen  and it probably will happen, but Lauren or Andrea (the latter is more likely I think) could steal Stereo Kicks' 3rd place with good performances over the next two weeks. I'm becoming more and more sure Fleur and Ben will be the top 2, either could win but I'm really thinking Fleur can do it now.

Oh I'm pretty sure it is the top 3 Simon and the producers want. Ben would win out of that top 3 but I don't think Simon would care he'd squeeze a rock covers album out of him or something naff like that. Send Fleur off to work with some big name writers and producers and see how she fairs. SK will be pimped on everything then, all the countries X factors and he will have them on all the shows in the US.

All he needs for SK is a killer first single, that is what did it for 1D.

I totally forgot they had a sing-off last year even at the semi-final stage (which I don't agree with, but it's happen since 2012 in the Aussie version although each one did just go to deadlock anyway). That was deadlock anyway but still... All they need is for Lauren or Andrea to join SK if they are to end up in the bottom 2 again (which is highly likely) and their plan will work. I think that's pretty certain too, Fleur will be fine unless she really messes up and if Ben wasn't bottom 2 after that tortuous version of I Will Always Love You I don't think anything will push him down to the bottom 2!
The sing-off at the semi final stage last year was RIDICULOUS. Luke Friend vs. Rough Copy, with Luke absolutely miles ahead with the votes. It would've been awful if he went at that stage and that's not just me saying that as a huge fan of his.

They will defo have a sing off in the SF this year, they just need to avoid Fleur, Ben and SK making up the bottom 2. I'm sure they will be desperate for the bottom 2 to be Andrea vs Lauren this week, with probably Lauren going.

Then even if SK fall into the bottom 2 in the SF they will be probably with Andrea who will be 3rd week running and the judges can use that he isn't connecting with the public to justify SK going through.

The only spanner in the works is if Andrea absolutely nails a song, I think when voting figures are released week one when Andrea did a great job of earth song he topped the vote by a big margin. I'm assuming they are hoping that Chandelier doesn't become a moment for him this week as I'm sure they didn't have much hand in picking that one for Andrea (I doubt Sam Smith would be told what to pick where as 1D, LM and Tulisa were just told what they were picking).

If Mel and Andrea want to get him into the final a performance of Chandelier like this would help a lot

I'm sure he can do the falsetto it is just not making the lower notes to gravely.

Really hope Lauren performs Clarity in its original dance form... but I can easily see it being the Zedd Union Mix: https://soundcloud.com/zedd/union

Fleur's two choices are interesting. The Alicia Keys song wasn't much of a hit when it was released - perhaps a lot of the viewing audience won't actually know it. It's a beautiful song so I hope she does it justice (I'm sure she will).

Quite an unusual choice of Tina Turner song. Maybe I'm wrong but I wouldn't say it's one of her better known ones, although I suppose picking something that isn't too obvious could work in her favour, rather than perform the more predictable 'River Deep Mountain High' / 'Simply The Best' / 'What's Love Got To Do With It' etc... although in all honesty I'd prefer her to do any of those three than 'A Fool In Love'! *Blames Emeli*

(I doubt Sam Smith would be told what to pick where as 1D, LM and Tulisa were just told what they were picking).

I know X Factor shouldn't entirely be taken at face value but you do know that not EVERYTHING is a conspiracy right?

I think If I Ain't Got You is actually quite well known for a song that did so badly :o I was certainly very shocked to find out it was so small a hit. Very much looking forward to Fleur performing it!
