How does it work? :P Hopefully I won't have to explain this more than once - The Official Chart company, in their infinite wisdom, discovered that if a kettle was boiled in a certain way, would emanate the sounds of a popular song. As of last month, every time this occurs, the OCC logs this as one "steam". 100 "steams" = 1 sale. Of course, this addition caused a lot of controversy with chart fans, as this gets logged regardless of whether the water and kettle was boiled by the person who paid for both, but the OCC have claimed that this addition makes the charts for representative of what's popular, and of course the OCC are infallible in these matters. So "steaming" will remain a part of the chart for the forseeable future.
