Same way you cover anything else, only without the singing (which of course Duke Dumont doesn't do anyway). The Shadows did it loads of times.

I always forget Starships never quite made it to #1! It's odd that even just six months or so ago I was doubting whether Nicki would have a top 10 again, and now she's likely to have two #1s. Bang Bang isn't even really a feature, it's billed as a joint single between the three artists.

I actually think it's promotion campaign has been quite questionable.

 

I saw an advert on TV about a week ago saying to pre-order the song. Paying loads of money to get an advert on TV just to pre-order a song which hadn't even been premiered in full seems very strange to me. Kind of reminds me of Born This Way in the sense that it was on air, on sale but had a pre-release campaign even greater than some held back songs. They obviously desperately want it to debut at #1, and I wouldn't be surprised if the song has a chart run like Summer tbh.

 

I haven't actually heard the song though, so if it's good I don't mind it getting #1. But if all songs are going to be promoted like this in the future it's going to be no different to how it was before tbh.

 

The one important difference being that only 3 days after the song is first aired its available to fans to buy when they want so if it's popular it will sell ALOT in the long run as people will know its available when it's played on radio. Look at duke Dumont this week I wonder how many potential sales they missed out on over the summer as people heard it on the radio but were prevented from owning it it's set to sell a paltry 55k this week and IMO a lot of that's to do with the lengthy wait for availability!

 

If it has a chart run half as good as Summer surely that will be a success - it's been one of his biggest hits for years with a much longer chart life than most his hits of recent years - think it has been in the chart since the 4th May?!

Quite surreal seeing Aphex Twin in the iTunes top 100 with a new song (not that he was likely to make the top 100 with an old song, with the possible exceptions of Windowlicker and Avril 14th notwithstanding). I doubt it'll chart as it's too late in the week and is likely to drop like a stone, but it's nice to see.

I've been listening to Ugly Heart about 3 times every morning this week on the way to work and constantly checking Kworb updates - they were the only song in the top 10 in green earlier - and then I found out the most talented girl has died. Very sad. Not the way I wanted them to get a Saturday boost :(

I'm stunned. Completely out of the blue and shocking for someone only just entering the limelight, very sad news. :(

Wow that's really sad about Simone Battle. Just as they were achieving proper success as well. If it was suicide, it makes you realise that you just have no idea what's going on in people's heads.

Oh my God! I'm so shocked reading about Simone. It's even more shocking considering she was just finally breaking through with G.R.L. I feel for her close ones and also the rest of G.R.L. I wonder what they will do now.

That's really unexpected and sad to hear. R.I.P. Haven't even heard Ugly Heart in full (oops) but even if the song isn't that great it's still sad that she died so young especially with a potentially big career ahead of her.

WAT @ this news re: Simone. so out of nowhere, especially as she's from a girl group who seemed to have a promising future :o R.I.P., can't imagine how this must feel for the other 4! Was just starting to like Ugly Heart myself too
