Posted September 26, 201410 yr Paul McCartney to record Christmas charity single with Jennifer Hudson By Harry Fletcher Source: digitalspy Paul McCartney is to record a Christmas charity single with Jennifer Hudson. The ex-Beatle and the Oscar-winning singer will join a host of celebrities for a version of A Great Big World's 'Say Something', according to The Sun. The track will be released in support of Samuel L. Jackson's cancer charity One For The Boys. Other celebrities featured include Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams and model Daisy Lowe, while Jackson will also provide vocals. The recording session at Abbey Road Studios was reportedly hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw earlier this week. 'Say Something' will challenge The X Factor 2014 champion for Christmas number one. McCartney will soon release a special Collector's Edition of his album New, featuring two previously unreleased songs, live recordings from his concert at the Tokyo Dome, and a documentary about the making of the album. His Destiny theme song was also recently posted online, with YouTube user Kilo Juliett posting the track as part of the game's end credits sequence.
September 26, 201410 yr So many things wrong with this. - Ew Paul McCartney - This is going to outsell J-Hud's amazing solo output - This is probably going to outsell the original - imagine if Say Something is the winner's single too? - He's well regarded as one of the best songwriters of all time so why he can't he write an original Christmas song?
September 26, 201410 yr I'd be happy with Band Aid 30 to stop this awfulness and the X Factor winner's single from reaching #1.
September 26, 201410 yr "Say Something" really, most un-inspired cover version, I read all about this last weekend that it could challenge for the Xmas #1.
September 26, 201410 yr Good grief, at this rate the Christmas top 2 will be made of two different versions of Say Something if XF's obsession of it continues :manson: That said, I'm gonna wait until I hear that from a more reliable source. On the topic of Christmas charity singles, I was hoping there'd be a Band Aid 30 this year as it's the right time, but doesn't look like there will be now :( (I see I'm not the only one wondering this) Edited September 26, 201410 yr by Chez Wombat
September 26, 201410 yr Paul McCartney just desperate for publicity (as per); not quite as awful as calling his 2012 album "Kisses on the Bottom" however, but still - pretty terrible.

September 26, 201410 yr Surely the X Factor wouldn't have 'Say Something' as the winner's song if this is happening? This rendition of 'Say Something' will probably drain even more emotion out of the song than an X Factor cover would! :(
September 26, 201410 yr I'm not happy that this is a cover! Paul McCartney of all people could have made an original Xmas song though if it means stopping Simon Cowell and proving his talent show drivel isn't relevant anymore than ill buy it  Just one year though I'd love to see a proper Xmas single get the Xmas number one, not some ballad/charity cover getting it...
September 26, 201410 yr oh lawd. at least the X Factor winners single will probably not be Say Something then, but I could see this challenging for #1. yay for uninspired charity covers! :cheer: (sarcasm)
