Please Rihanna or Adele, I beg you to release a new single this week to stop that awfulness reaching #1.

1. Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass

6. The Magician - Sunlight (feat. Years and Years) [Radio Edit]

11. Labrinth - Let It Be

12. Ella Eyre - Comeback

19. Gorgon City - Unmissable (feat. Zak Abel)

21. Jessie Ware - Say You Love Me

82. DJ Fresh - Flashlight (feat. Ellie Goulding) [Radio Edit]

112. Peace - Lost on Me

Having just listened to All About That Bass, I was expecting from the title for it to be some big dance song, not a female size empowerment song! I don't really get the hate, it's fairly catchy and quite likeable song? (if a little bit pretentious/gimmicky) Definitely preferable to another week of Bang Bang anyway.
That's a pretty feeble excuse given in this instance the title clearly IS referring to the lyrics.

'Run Away' is a common victim of being wrongly compressed into a single word in song titles. And also 'Every Day'. At least Ella is bringing a new one :magic:

This is all making me nostalgic for the Britpop days of Cast with their songs 'Finetime' and 'Walkaway'.

So out of the thousands upon thousands of songs available on UK iTunes at the moment All About That Bass is the most downloaded of them all? :tirren:

Well at least it's a bit better than the song that was #1 yesterday.

Cheryl Cole's new song will obviously go to #1 after she performs it live on The X Factor no matter how shit it is.

I'm sure there was a point in the past where music got to number 1 for sounding different and interesting, rather than sounding as absolutely generic and inoffensive as possible, but then looking at most of the million-sellers over the last 62 years, probably not.

Saying that, All About That Bass actually sounds like some effort of a tune's been put into it which elevates it up over a lot of most #1s this year.

Leona Lewis update:

Run - #42

Bleeding Love - #505

Footprints In The Sand - #536

A Moment Like This - #954

Also:

One More Sleep - #2 on the holiday chart.

If only that was the case, it would have probably been better than the mess of what it actually is.

This is the most irritating iTunes top three since I can remember :puke2:

It's time for one of those "memba I told you" moments. This song is currently #71 on the shazam chart even though it doesn't appear to have a music video and it's not playlisted yet on the chart related radio stations.

It is released in 2 months time on the 23rd November and it sounds like just the type of song that would do very well in the UK.

So once again.......... MEMBA I TOLD YOU!!!

'I Loved You' is nice, but 'Higher Ground' was so much better! :(
