02. Stephanie Nala - Call Me

 

Very interesting take on the song! I think I like it. She did make it her own, even if she is just making herself a one person Cover Drive (who I liked, so no qualms from me). Her tone is still gorgeous though.

Again, she was MUCH better than last week but I thik it did coast a bit which stopped it from being amazing although I did enjoy it. I love her voice and her vibe, but I think she has about two or three weeks absolute maximum in her (the rebound vote may save her this week anyway).

Bit wobbly at the start but has blown the other 2 away easily.

1. Jack 7.5/10 - Really enjoyed his performance.

2. Andrea 6.5/10 - Was alright and would prefer him not to sing power ballads every week. Didn't think "One Moment In Time" suited him to be honest.

3. Stephanie 5.5/10 - It was ok.

Andrea Faustini - Not quite as good as last week's perfection, only purely because the song was more predictable and less interesting. Again, executed fantastically. I just want him to spice it up a bit. - 8.5/10.0

I was slightly disappointed with Andrea, that was a bit boring for a song like that and it felt a bit held back imo... It put me in mind of a Sam smith version, I didn't like the instrumental and the choir thing throughout was a bit annoying. His voice is undeniable though and I did enjoy it quite a bit.

There's NO denying that he can sing but I totally expected him to sing it like that. It wasn't exciting, it wasn't something different, it was exactly how you'd imagine Andrea singing a Whitney track.

His voice is really unbearable to listen to. I do not see the hype at all, his voice is so rough and it doesn't feel natural, it just feels like he's forcing something to come out, but he can't unless it cracks. MEH. Better than last week though I guess...

I hate when someone criticises a favourite and the other judges can't take it :drama: Simon was right there anyway imo.

That didn't click with me, last week's performance was so much better

Simon is really going for the critiques this year, and rightly so, he wasn't great. Telling him he is will only make him worse.

Anyone who rates Steph higher than Andrea needs a hearing test and a slap. I mean her voice is so nothing, she cant get out of one note because her voice just cracks and disappears if she does.

Stephanie was fabulous, loving that she added that reggae vibe and made the song different from the original. Great vocals too, and her long note shows that she does have power to her voice when she wants to have it! :wub:

 

Andrea was boring for me, great singer but just so predictable in terms of song choice. Jack was decent but will be in trouble - along with Stephanie - due to being so early in the running order.

Andrea really didn't do anything for me. It sounded like "Stay With Me"; added with strained trying too hard vocal gymnastics. Meh.
