October 25, 201410 yr That's good because she is shit. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zX8bMaQkTS8/UtV-lJUpv-I/AAAAAAAALzk/X8hknaSWToI/s1600/basicbitches.gif
October 25, 201410 yr Haha yeah Lola was awful tonight especially! I loved her at judges houses for some reason but in the lives she's been such a bore. Paul was surprisingly my favourite by far tonight! Don't usually like him at all but thought he was so so good tonight. I guess the song choice helped but still 👌
October 25, 201410 yr So do you all still think Boom Clap was the right song choice and the amaze song you all were gagging for  #toldyouso :P
October 25, 201410 yr It was still better than the whole "boring middle aged relatively attractive male sing boring ballad" routine tbf.
October 25, 201410 yr I want to marry Jay James  But he must promise to never sing again. Edited October 25, 201410 yr by T child
October 25, 201410 yr First off, Jack's VT. My favourite human. Thank you. 09.0 Ben Haenow · Surprise of the night for me. Apart from the high note which was just a tad iffy, everything else about that performance was really rather fabulous! Starting to love his voice more, hope he keeps surprising me from now on~ (helps that he's also v nice looking as well x) 08.0 Stereo Kicks · Big improvement on last week, although it's really starting to seem like they have the one lead vocalist (his name escapes me), and the rest are just support acts coming along for the ride. Doesn't help that he's so awkward to watch as well. But yes, enjoyable performance. I like when people make shit songs at the very least listenable. 00.0 Stevi Ritchie · Louis in on point comment shocker. 10.0 Jack Walton · Flawless performance once again, great song choice and a stunning version. WINNER *.* 09.5 Fleur East · Very impressed with her tonight! By far her best performance to date, the voice, the performance, she had the whole package. Now just comes the worry that she won't get votes for being overly sexual (which I don't think was really the case... she just BROUGHT IT). *claps* job well done. 06.5 Lauren Platt · The whole thing was all a bit flat for the first half really. A bit boring as well? Just glad she gave it all towards the end otherwise it would have been a travesty from start to finish. 08.0 Lola Saunders · There's something about that performance I'm not keen on? Still, she has the better and stronger voice out of herself and Lauren BY FAR, but it was obviously a bit shaky at parts tonight. Still a strong vocal towards the end though. Hoping she can keep improving. 00.0 Andrea Faustini · Overrated shit. 02.0 Paul Akister · The voice just really grates on me, like someone dragging nails down a blackboard. Otherwise it was a very microscopic improvement on last week. 00.0 Jay James · Is it Simon's honest intention to keep allowing Jay to destroy songs every week? This was awful, no passion in it at all, dull, no substance in it at all. Really hoping he does a Kye Sones and leaves earlier than expected, but I'm guessing we'll be stuck with him for a while yet. *sighs* 09.5 Only the Young · LOVE LOVE LOVE. Amazing performance of one of the best songs from one of the BEST films. Don't get some of the comments from the judges? Anyway, great performance and I really hope they go far! (Charlie remains cute as ever ) 07.0 Jake Quickenden · Didn't love that as much as previous performances from him, but it was still enjoyable. Just really hoping he and Mel will decide to go for something a bit more up-tempo sometime soon though because it's going to hinder him if he sticks to ballads all the time. But yeah, still love him. And sorry, but Lauren really is a Jacqueline Jossa clone.
October 25, 201410 yr I'm not sure who will go tomorrow, I feel the producers would be happy with Jake going and he didn't help himself but the judges comments went a bit OTT, especially Simon's who could easily rally his fans to vote more. Jack is another candidate but he seems to be generally liked, but he gave a bad performance and the revelation that he might be difficult to work with for Mel wont help. OTY were weak as hell, but the judges comments weren't overly negative to make people feel sorry for them or rally the vote. They could be in danger but maybe their past performances will save them. Stevi got a nicer later slot but it feels like it is wearing thin and I think going by fb likes and stuff he is only just above the safe zone the last 2 weeks, is the novelty wearing off? I think it is between those 4, Stereo Kicks got everything in their favour tonight, Lola will probably survive from past performances being better.
October 25, 201410 yr I think you're really underestimating Only The Young, and I think "weak as hell" is harsh (even though I respect that this is your opinion). There were many worse performances than theirs tonight. I concede that their verses were shaky but everything else was fine? I could be wrong, but I hardly see Louis losing 3 acts within the first 3 weeks. Anyway, I think/hope that they'll be around for a while longer. I'm pretty convinced that it will be one of Mel's boys who goes tomorrow. Most likely Jake, who in all fairness does deserve to go after that pretty awful performance he gave. I even found Stevi to be mildly more enjoyable than him this week! I don't think I've seen people talk about X Factor performances in terms of "the best/worst slots" before this series. Is there any evidence based on past series that a particular slot in the running order = death knell? Unless anyone is bothered to come up with the proof, it seems to me like a bit of an excuse! If it's actually a thing, then it shouldn't have much impact this year given that you can vote before the first person has performed. While I'm sure there is some manipulation that goes on from the producers, I'm not really buying any of the "bad treatment" that Jake/Stephanie and whoever else has supposedly had. Generally I feel like it's a level playing field, and if those 2 in particular actually sang very well then they wouldn't get bad comments from the judges. Jake has deserved the critique he has received.
October 25, 201410 yr I am living for the Cheryl backlash I keep seeing on Twitter tbh *.* agree 100% with everyone saying that she's just being a moaning faced little cow this year, thinking she's all that. I laughed at her comment to Fleur tonight as well... Saying she respected how she did the whole singing and dancing and rapping all at once thing, or whatever it was. Bet you wish you could do that too without miming your way through it, eh?

Yeah it has been discussed quite a lot, however I think the other year we had voting from the start of the show rather than after everyone sang it through things off.
October 25, 201410 yr Yes in the past going last was a massive advantage, because voting started at the end of the show. Now you can vote from the beginning, I don't think it matters as much. I'm sure throughout the many series, it took 9 series (I think?) before the contestant that performed last was ever in the bottom two, whereas the person who went first was more often than not in the bottom two.
October 26, 201410 yr Yeah it has been discussed quite a lot, however I think the other year we had voting from the start of the show rather than after everyone sang it through things off. Only this year X factor and Strictly clash for 20 mins the last 2 weeks so the first 2 performers are at a huge disadvantage, as we have seen ratings wise when they clash Strictly wins. The first week they clashed for 65 mins and during that 65 mins Strictly averaged 9.04m, X factor averaged 6.54m during the clash.

Yes, I vaguely remember it was an Over called Melanie or something... Edited October 26, 201410 yr by Dobbo
October 26, 201410 yr Just looked back, it happened in series 3 to Ashley McKenzie also. Other than that, no-one until Melanie Masson in series 9. Not happened other than these two occurrences!

October 26, 201410 yr Only saw a couple of perfs (been at work but I saw Fleur, OTY & Lauren via the app) all 3 were at least, "good". Fleur was WOW! OTY didnt disappoint me (probably because I had a feeling the comments they received on here, were gonna be like that "good, but thought it'd be better" etc..) they were really good (bar a couple of issues) and Lauren was "good". Nothing more, nothing less. I find her really dull though! :/
