Posted November 1, 201410 yr Gooddelta just gave me an idea for a thread topic :D Do we need midweeks everyday, would it be a lot easier not knowing Fridays mids, to make the chart interesting to listen to on a Sunday. We used to have an update twice a week Weds (Radio 1 chart update) and Fri with the aid of MW. Personally I think having them Tues to Thurs is rather good, Fridays mids tend to give the chart away for the final reveal.
November 1, 201410 yr If they're available everyday, then I'd say post them each day. If anyone doesn't wish to see them to make Sunday's official chart more exciting, then they should simply not look!
November 1, 201410 yr It would be a bugger doing prep for the Haven Chart thread without the Fridays for me.
November 1, 201410 yr I'm not sure relevant is the right word to use here. I'm in agreement with Liam, they're clearly a talked about resource that a lot of people are interested in talking about and (judging by prior threads about how people discover Buzzjack) one of the main draws for visitors and members of the site in the first instance, so the people that don't want to see the information can just not view the thread! I guess the temptation can be TOO much if the midweeks are available though.
November 1, 201410 yr I definitely appreciate the midweeks so I'd say keep posting them especially the Tuesday ones as it's nice to see how high certain songs chart in the midweeks and compare them to their final chart position (poor Bondax last week started as high as #24 and officially went to #63(!!!) :()
November 1, 201410 yr Yes they are highly relevant. Also good to see where new entries initially chart compared to where they end up come Sunday. I think only Thursday's aren't really necessary.
November 1, 201410 yr I like seeing them every day and tracking how the chart is looking/changing. I'd be so lost without it and I wouldn't know what to do with myself.
November 1, 201410 yr Even with Friday's you can still see some big changes in the charts between then and Sunday, especially in the album charts
November 2, 201410 yr If you select "None at all" you still have to select which individual days you would like them!
November 3, 201410 yr I like seeing them every day and tracking how the chart is looking/changing. I'd be so lost without it and I wouldn't know what to do with myself. Movies would be a nice hobby too.. :kink: Edited November 3, 201410 yr by Insomnio
November 3, 201410 yr Although I enjoy reading the midweeks, it actually spoils the surprise of knowing who will be no1 each week in the charts. I used to love listening to the charts in the 80s and waiting to see who was no1 each week but now all that surprise and excitement is almost gone as you can usually predict who will be no1 from the midweek chart info.
November 3, 201410 yr I think they should be posted every day if they are available. Those people who don't want the surprise ruined don't need to look a t them.
November 3, 201410 yr Yes! Think of all hits #1 on midweeks! Anaconda, several 1D #1s, etc. Do you feel better or worse for a song that leads the midweaks only to fall? Manic Street Preachers did it at least 3 times :(
November 3, 201410 yr Do you feel better or worse for a song that leads the midweaks only to fall? Manic Street Preachers did it at least 3 times :( Depends. Boomerang was but ended at 6, but really the end week is what counts. Still, a #1 at any part of the week is still very good!
November 3, 201410 yr Still, a #1 at any part of the week is still very good! Well that depends, a tuesday midweek is only monday and sunday sales combined so it doesn't amount to a lot if something was to slip from #1 in the next day's update (e.g. Anaconda)
