Gareth Malone smashing all competition yet again! And as the 1D tracks are mainly selling off album preorders he basically has a huge lead on everything. Not a fan of his cover but good to see it raising money for CIN. Avicii's version will always remain a classic though

How on Earth are people being compelled to buy 'Wake Me Up' in such vast numbers after every shoddy performance of it? Because it's a charity single I guess but I'm pretty sure the effect was nowhere near this big from Ellie Goulding's performance last year (or was it, I forget, I know it did get to #1 on iTunes but I don't recall how big its lead was). Anyway that should now be a safe 100k+ seller this week and it should probably manage one more week in the top 10 but after that it's going to plummet.

#277 Reach

#538 Don't Stop Movin'

#728 Never Had A Dream Come True

#953 Bring It All Back

#1175 S Club Party

Their greatest hits is at #70

Album S Club #1231

Sales are about 20% down on 2013 levels thus casual buys (of similar levels) are being made to look a lot more impressive than they actually are.
I am glad that Dangerous looks set to be a big hit though as it is much better than Lovers on the Sun so deserves to at least outsell it if it can't outpeak it.

yeah Dangerous is a good song.

Aside: this is the third cover version of 'Wake Me Up' to make the top 100 (and the top 75 for that matter) this year and the 5th version in total to chart. How many of the previous 4 versions do you remember? :magic:

Original version (Spark Productions, July 2013, #26)

First cover (Avicii, July 2013, #1)

Second cover (Red Hot Chilli Pipers, February 2014, #54)

Third cover (Aloe Blacc, April 2014, #69)

Avicii's Wake Me Up was a cover wot?

Avicii's Wake Me Up was a cover wot?

A shameless ripoff of the little known Spark Productions, released just a few weeks after theirs and completely stealing their thunder. Disgusting.

Avicii's #impakt though, if he didn't cover Spark Productions their version never would've charted~ So iconic that the Spark Productions video has Avicii's name in its title!!!11

S Club 7 Update:

 #141. "Reach"

 #148. "Don't Stop Movin'"

 #197. "Never Had A Dream Come True"

 #254. "Bring It All Back"

 #429. "S Club Party"

 #885. "Have You Ever"

:cheer:

They really should have done Never Had A Dream Come True, fur coats and all.
The Veronicas pushed down to 16 :(. Was expected I guess. Really worried they won't stay top 10 on Sunday but I'd love it if they hung on at #10 at least.

Good to see God Only Knows reappearing. Wasn't keen on it at first but grew to like it. Infinitely better than that Wake Me Up cover (Avicii must be turning in his decks!)

But that Wake Me Up cover still manages to be better than that total atrocity released by Ellie Goulding last year <_<

A shameless ripoff of the little known Spark Productions, released just a few weeks after theirs and completely stealing their thunder. Disgusting.

Poor Spark Productions, could have had a million seller on their hands :(
