We could potentially be looking at three or four covers/remakes in a row, with 'Wake Me Up', Band Aid 30, and The X Factor's winning single.

Not to mention if 'Real Love' manages to get there on a quiet week and if Simon Cowell decides to release another X Factor Finalists single. :puke2:

I understand that all are for a good cause but for originality's sake I can't be the only one that hates this time of year for the charts. <_<

There hasn't been an X Factor finalists single since 2011 and we'd have heard about it by now if they were doing another :P

Sadly I don't think Real Love will be making #1 but I hope it can make its way back into the top 10 :(

I thought one of the reasons it may have stopped was due to Cowell's absence from the show and now he's back etc.

But yeah, we most probably would have heard by now if there were to be one. :teresa:

'Real Love' is the best of the bunch and I like him as an artist so that wouldn't be too bad...

they stopped the X Factor finalist charity singles as they weren't selling that much (especially the 2011 one and that was even with them being depserate for #1 by putting 1D and JLS on the track)

They stopped selling because they were getting more awful as the years went on.

'Hero' was a fab charity single tbh.

Simon wasn't on the show in 2011, that was the year of Gary/Kelly/Tulisa/Louis as the panel, so I don't think Simon's presence has anything to do with the charity singles!
Thanks! Pretty massive drop

Indeed probably the best comparison for a download era huge selling charity single. But the fact it's an Xmas charity single and we are only entering the season now suggests it could hold up a little better!

I don't get what made 'Hero' any better than the ones that followed, it was just as cheap and awful.

If I were forced to pick the least rubbish one then it would probably be 'Heroes'.

I actually thought Wishing On A Star was the best out of the 4 released (I wish they did not add JLS and 1D on there). The sales were dire by that point though so not really worth doing another, especially as the viewing numbers have dwindled since the last one was released.
Olly is up to 98.2% of Clean Bandit in the latest LPB update, so he might be #2 soon.
I loved the X Factor version of Hero  I wouldn't listen to any of the others out of choice though personally.
I also thought X Factor stopped doing charity singles, because iirc at the time there was a lot of debate that the revenue collected was actually LESS than years before for the Poppy Appeal, because people had bought the single, they did not feel inclined to put money towards a poppy.
Strange to see on the iTunes music video chart Band Aid 20 is No1, Peter Kays CIN effort from a few years ago top 10 & We are the World at 15!

I actually really like all the XF charity singles. If I had to rank them best to worst it would have to be:

Heroes (2010)

Wishing On A Star (2011)

Hero (2008)

You Are Not Alone (2009)

Band Aid gets its first red update!

Kworb hasn't even been loading for me for hours now.

I don't think it was any better, it was just first.
