November 20, 201411 yr It does seem odd, Band Aid 30 sales are dropping, I know its available from iTunes and Amazon, maybe the other versions of Do They Know Its Christmas its hindering it, as the public don't know which version to download as they all sound the same, with a few lines of the lyrics been changed. At the rate its going we are probably looking at 350k for the week, or less. Unless the backlash from the media has put a spanner in the works.
November 20, 201411 yr Really? How come their iTunes lead is still so huge? :o Yes really  got the paperwork in front of me :D
November 20, 201411 yr I'm glad Band Aid is dropping off quickly. Really hope TT can be no1 next week. Its a miles better song.
November 20, 201411 yr Night Changes looking safe for top 40 then, perhaps a boost into the top 10 next week? :o That would be nice but it's probably wishful thinking. Are they booked for the X Factor final or anything? As that would definitely give it a Top 10 boost.
November 20, 201411 yr Really? How come their iTunes lead is still so huge? :oThe iTunes chart isn't exactly 24 hours, it includes older data (and weights newer sales within the 24 hours higher) (these can be occasionally proven with songs made album-only and frontloaded new releases respectively). So the huge first day of sales is likely still holding it up a lot.
November 20, 201411 yr I'm not sure the bad publicity (is there such thing?) can be blamed for Band Aid, the fact it's being talked about would just spur the public on to buy it surely? Although it does make it's sale reduction even more baffling. I think once it's available to buy as a physical it will pick up but probably will only get three/four weeks maximum at number 1 overall. November 20, 201411 yr Anyone know where Nicole Scherzingers album is today? I think it was 65 first update, then 62 yesterday.
November 20, 201411 yr It be interesting to see its second week sales to see how much of a drop it will have as it won't be frontloaded on Sunday. it probably just manage 120k to 150k for the week. I don't think TT will get a #1 but they do have the X Factor performance on Sunday so anything could happen, the track needs to do 50k+ at least on the first mids.
November 20, 201411 yr If The Flood couldn't get to number 1 when there was all that hype of it being their first single with Robbie featuring since their comeback, I'd be very surprised if this one did, especially as there's only three of TT left now which doesn't really seem right.

November 20, 201411 yr It's been quoted on Buzzjack numerous times over the years that the itunes chart is 48 hours. I think it's actually quite a bit longer than that. Last Christmas when 'Happy' was made album only. it took about 4 days to fall out of the top 40, and was still in the top 500 like 8 days later, despite being impossible to purchase.
November 20, 201411 yr Definite backlash, Too many charity records, all the Bob Geldof / Adele stuff, and Bob Geldof being so aggressive if anyone criticises the project. How much did the 1989 Band Aid II (Stock Aitken & Waterman) version sell in its first week? It must be more than 350k
November 20, 201411 yr It's worth noting that Songs of Innocence isn't actually a climber at 37 -- the original is down 58-75 and then Songs of Innocence + (I'm assuming the iTunes release has additional material) is new inside the top 40. 'Songs Of Innocence' and 'Songs Of Innocence +' have most of their tracks in common but both also have songs that are not on the other, which is why they're charting separately (same situation as David Guetta's 'Nothing But The Beat 2.0'). The OCC only combine when the new version has all the same tracks as the original and just adds a few more.

November 20, 201411 yr How can Prayer in C be #43 if has been #12 or around on Spotify all week? I'm not 100% sure on it, but I think the Top Lists on Spotify might be a bit behind. If you look at the daily charts on charts.spotify.com you'll see that Prayer In C has recently plummeted all the way down to the low 30s. The reason for this is that something mucked up on Spotify which seems to have Prayer In C on the top lists (possibly playlists too) tagged as the remix, but if you play it, you get the original. The remix is still available if you search for it, but presumably hearing the different original version is offputting to some, so some people have stopped listening to it.
November 20, 201411 yr Bette Midler climbing in each update, is unexpected, but welcome. Hardly unexpected. She's promoting it in the UK! Great news though.
November 20, 201411 yr Andy C missing the top 40  Such a shame especially given the big R1 support for it.
