Leona Lewis "One More Sleep" to #229.

It got another play from Magic 105.4 today and also Heart fm is on board. It got 4 plays this morning and just got another play from Heart Gloucestershire! Good news that heart is back on board, so it should enter the top 200 soon! Also, with Stereo Kicks performing "Run" tomorrow, that will hopefully give a little boost to Leona's catalogue in general and give One More Sleep a nice bump. Exciting! :D

Edit: Just refreshed Compare My Radio and it's now gotten 8 plays from heart (1 play on 8 stations) and that doesn't include the play from Heart Gloucestershire!

Edit 2:  to #222 now.

Edit 3:  to #193 - re-entered the top 200. :cheer:

Edit 4:  to #190 :cheer:

Going to be interesting to see how high Leona can get with One More Sleep in December, I am hoping for her to re enter the top 40 again this year, I think One More Sleep was top 3 on radio play last year. Probably why it hit #1 on itunes, Hoping the radio play it just as much this year. I'd love to see this go top 20 again.

As much as I like the Leona song, I think people are over-estimating how well it will do this year, I really can't see it going Top 40. Would love to be proven wrong though :)

The Hanging Tree at 4 now, wish it was doing well on spotify

I wonder if lots of people will be going to see the film tomorrow? Could push it close to #1 :o

I think it as a really good chance at going top 40 again, Its now 190 just off heart playing it. If its radio play is good this year again i see no reason why this wouldn't go atleast top 40. But we will see over the next few weeks.

It seems to shoot up about 10% from about 4-8pm every evening (after school/work) so the weekend could work wonders for it! What a random number one that would be

If it does get those consistent plays from Heart and the odd play from other stations I can definitely see it having a chance of re-entering around 35 - 40 for a week- but at the very maximum. The Christmas songs that are doing well so far are all featured on advertised Christmas collections. It's top 200 now without any airplay really.

If it gets featured in a "Christmas songs for 59p" list this year, I actually think it could possibly break the top 30 though.

Hanging Tree is 116 on spotify, so it's doing ok on streaming, ofcause Band Aid 30 and Taylor Swift don't have streaming, so small chance of being ahead of Taylor on the main charts on Sunday

No chance of it getting #1 overall but an iTunes #1 looks very plausible for it. Really hope it can make the top 10 officially but I think it'll probably stall just outside (maybe getting there on sales). Could climb in next week if it holds up I guess!

I think streaming is the key to if Leona re-enters the top 40 or not. I think she has a really good chance though and I looked at how she did on streaming last year and she got as high as #31 on the spotify chart the week before Christmas and #35 the week of Christmas. Plus it's encouraging that with 1 play from magic 105.4 and heart that it rose 50+ places and re-entered the top 200 for the first time. I can see it doing very well if heart & magic continue to play it. Plus I know some smaller stations that will definitely play it. Not to mention you can't rule out a possible play from BBC Radio 2 and perhaps even capital fm - they played it a lot last Christmas and come under the same company as heart.

Edit: "One More Sleep" to #186.

The problem for stopping Leona from climbing with the other Christmas songs if the fact that they're all included on the Now Christmas compilation from last year. Normally they re-release it each year with new songs added, however this year they didn't. Hopefully next year's effect will be bigger for both Leona and Kelly if they included in the Now Christmas compilation.

I can see what you mean, I've been having my doubts too, but it's worth remembering that we're not into December yet and I know that a lot of people start listening/buying Christmas songs as of 1st December. The Christmas songs usually really start taking off then and I'm sure Leona will get good TV support with 'One More Sleep'. I think being Top 200 before 1st December shows a good chance of re-entering the Top 40.

"Underneath The Tree" by the Water Babies maybe, but that is twenty times better than both looned-over Christmas songs on this site, and has precisely zero chance of re-entering.

I actually think that's a blessing in disguise for Leona. If it can do well this year without being on all the compilations, hopefully it'll be included on them next year and get a boost from them to help it re-enter for next year too. There was one classical compilation I saw on Amazon/Itunes etc that actually included Leona's version of "Ave Maria" though.

I'd love to see Kelly re-enter the top 200 too. Hopefully she'll do some promotion as she isn't pregnant this time and I know her and her team are pushing her Xmas album again.

still not #1 on the combined iTunes + streaming chart if there was one oops

It's "Under The Tree", but I agree, my favourite non-standard Christmas song. I remember thinking at the time that Kele from Bloc Party sang lead vocals on it. I was wrong. It does get played a lot on Asda FM at Christmas, if that's any consolation.
