'Uptown Funk' really is going to be humongous isn't it?

Has anyone ever done a rendition of a soon to be released single before?

(From memory I think somebody did 'Cooler Than Me' in 2010?)

Yeah Cher Lloyd did it, and that clip is now famous for being the "it wasn't me" girls not flushing the toilet video!
I hope Ariana can get top 40 this week (with 'Love Me Harder'), if it could be her only chance.

I'd rather 'Santa Tell Me' made it instead  I'm hooked.

25  Budapest

On Alan Carr at the moment too (albeit performing Listen to the Man), so could get another boost in a few hours.

Thanks for the combined update - interesting to see Wizzard well ahead of Slade again this year - the later in the mid 50s while Mr Wood and co in the top 30. Their yearly battle is like the 70s version of the Pogues vs Mariaah in a way!

Also The Killers still top 50 - hopefully they can get another top 100 entry maybe even top 75. Doubt it will beat the peak of Feel it in my Bones (70) or Boots (53) and def not Don't Shoot me Santa (which I think was the only physically released Xmas single by them - got it myself in 2007!

The Killers had sold around 1.8K up to midnight y'day, so I reckon they will be lucky to get to 4K by the end of business tomorrow. That'll be good for a #90 debut.
Not bad top 100 for a Tuesday release. I'm not sure of the top 100 positions of the other Xmas songs they released!

2007 #33 Don't Shoot Me Santa

2008 #88 Joseph, Better You Than Me

2009 #110 ¡Happy Birthday Guadalupe!

2010 #53 Boots

2011 #112 The Cowboys' Christmas Ball

2012 #70 I Feel It In My Bones

2013 #92 Christmas In L.A.

Similar to 2013 and 2008 in terms of peak position.

Ah cheers DB :D I'm sure it depended on the day of release and stuff but the decent ones generally did best - most made the iTunes top 40 and the first A Great Big Sled would have been top 10 but there was no physical out when the download went into the iTunes top 10 in 2006 so wasn't eligible to chart.

 21. Listen to the Man - George Ezra (also #247)

 25. Budapest - George Ezra (also #208, #613 and #885)

 26. Blame It on Me - George Ezra (also #87 and #256)

Edited by jase.

Hope 'Listen To the Man' can keep climbing. A nice, little infectious pop song. So much more bearable than the dull 'Budapest'! 'Blame It On Me' is my favourite of his so far though.
8 weeks at #1 seems slightly optimistic

could see it doing a Rather Be though

I can see Uptown Funk being #1 for at least 3-4 weeks in the New Year and being in the year-end top 10.

 13. One Direction - Night Changes

Hope it can keep climbing and get a respectable peak next week! :D

#10 now :D

btw what caused this climb I know that they were around 18 yesterday..

Ed Sheeran for #1 next week performing Monday night on ITVs Royal Variety Performance and Thursday BBC1 Music Awards :cheer:

Oh well, Taylor Swift will have to settle for #2 or #3 depends where Band Aid 30 peak

Looks like Bastille has released 'Torn Apart' early. It's at #38. Hope this can officially get into the Top 40 next week!

YAAAAAY 1D :cheer: Keep climbing please!!

Kinda related, I saw the Band Aid 30 physical in HMV earlier, is it out early?
