Pretty much enjoyed the film, as said above Margot stole the whole show, especially walking around in those tiny shorts throughout the film :D I found it more of a filler more than anything, it did take a tad long to get into the story at the beginning by introducing the characters before it gets into the real stuff. The ending was alright but not that spectacular, to be honest I can't see a sequel coming out of this, as at the end of the film after the main credits, ties it into the Justice League movie with a little tease of a extra clip. Jared Leto was alright as the Joker he reminds of the Joker from the TV series a little bit, quirky in places, would love to see a Harley Quinn movie though, if I have to give it a rating and I'm been a little generous here 7/10.

critically panned, I'm assuming critics went in with traditional super-heroics expectations, and traditional plotting. This was never going to be that sort of movie. As a DC comics fan nigh on 50 years, the baddies in the movie are largely long-familiar with me, as are the "goodies" like Amanda Waller - in fact there are NO heroes in this film at all, as with the comic it's amoral. Bad people do good things, good people do very bad things. That's the point. It's complicated and it's violent and disturbing and it's funny.

Granted not the best plot in the world (it's OK), but a decent cast, decent dialogue, and one central major star turn from Margot as Harley Quin. Own-up time: I love Harley, one of DC's great characters, she's not evil, she's bad, but she's insane and in love with an evil insane madman. If anyone is the hero of the film it's her, and Margot got her spot on in an amazing performance. There are few characters who could outshine the Joker, but Harley does it in spades.

7/10

Looks like Warner's really screwed the film over with the re-cut.

Look at what it could have been http://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/fil...ared-Leto-Joker

Yes, they've taken out the essential element of the Joker/Harley love/abuse relationship, the movie should have been darker - even the animated series of Batman infer what goes on between them, and Joker is always ruthless. That she goes back for more is part of her condition, though in the various series/comics she strikes up a non-violent, non-bad friendship with Poison Ivy as her way out of it, sort of.

Shouldve gone the Deadpool more adult route....

Long been a fan of Harley too, and Margot nails it even if the script doesn't quite.

In the comics these days Harley and Ivy have gone passed the point of friendship and she did have a 'thing' with Deadshot, even that did involve him wearing Joker's cut off face!

Not sure about Deadpool being adult. Appeared to me to be aimed squarely at 13/14 year old boys.

Could someone more familiar with the comics enlighten me as to which heroes each of the villains in the film were generally adversaries of?
Without any spoilers (not read through the thread so apologies if there is already a clear answer!), is this as bad as the critics have made it out to be? I was so hyped for this (and am still going to see it whatsoever) but I was completely shocked when I got back here and saw how panned it was.

Don't expect Oscars but it's fun! I think you'll enjoy Margot!

I enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect. The biggest problem for me was pacing and the last bit was a little bit meh. If you're not expecting the second coming of films then you'll be alright. Margot Robbie was the best bit.
Joe and T Boy have it spot on. It's a very enjoyable film. Plot holes galore, but nothing too off putting. Margot is indeed the star of the movie and your girl crush is only going to grow even more!!
Feeling the love for Margot. Such a talent, I've been championing her since Neighbours.

Deadshot, Harley, Joker, Croc, - Are all Batman

Enchantress - Mostly Supergirl and Green Lantern

El Diablo - Solo title character & All Star Western comic

Slipknot - (after some research) Firestorm

Boomerang - The Flash

Katana - Mostly associated with The Outsiders

Amanda Waller, Rick Flag - Suicide Squad

In addition to what others have said, I'd also add that there are issues with editing, in universe character decisions, and a weak villain.

But I thoroughly enjoyed it. Worth the price for Margot's performance alone.

I thought Harley Quinn was the saving grace of this film. Her performance was brilliant! Other than that I was hugely disappointed. I was so hyped for it and thought it fell completely flat. Awful villain - what were they thinking?

Watched this last night, it was alright I thought. Some random musical pieces used, most notable was the inclusion of Eminem's The Real Slim Shady in one scene.

I could see them making a sequel, but it needs to be a lot better plot I think.

I seem to recall it was Without Me not Real Slim Shady. Without Me, soundtracking a Harley clip I believe, meaning it actually makes some sense (she feels empty without Mr J.)

Saw this earlier in the week and I was sceptical having seen the reviews in the media and not really enjoying Batman v Superman. However, I was pleasantly surprised! It has its faults obviously, but with a fantastic cast, soundtrack and some decent storytelling, I thoroughly enjoyed this film.
So, what did you think Sam? :D

I really enjoyed it! But it just felt like there was something missing, which feels like may have been there in the scene cuts! The acting was fantastic but the plot was quite weak and the same goes for the script unfortunately. Margot completely slayed me and I loved Will Smith and most of the cast also (wasn't a fan of Boomerang though, he just annoyed me). I really enjoyed Jared Leto's Joker but he was in it way less than I was expecting, I was hoping to see a lot more of the Joker! So on the whole really enjoyed it but the incredible trailers and after seeing the film make me feel that this could have been up there with the best of the year instead of just being very enjoyable!
