Not believing anything I read about new Adele until we actually hear some music, i'm sure it's been just around the corner for like over a year now lol.

 

The Prodigy are apparently due an album in February, they may not be a MEGA seller but they do have 5 #1 albums and no reason to believe this won't be another for them :o (unless it's released against Adele lol).

There must be lots of record company people thinking that. If Adele's release date is known well in advance, there could be a dearth of big releases for a few weeks after that.

let's just hope Adele Beyoncé's her album then, though I doubt her new album will be quite as dominant as 21 (it'll still get lots of weeks at #1, but nowhere near the 23 weeks '21' got)

Not exactly, it's an album to tie in with some new film from Dreamworks (and I think she voices a character) but I assume it'll still be pop anyway, it just might be a bitt odd lyrically maybe as it'll fit with the film. It'll probably still be pop, but she's due both that her studio album this year!

I don't see Ronson doing huge numbers, Robin Thicke, Pharrell and Daft Punk did not have album sales reflective of their big hit songs.

Exciting! Also Leona's going to release in Q2 most likely, so lots of great releases to come in the first half of the year! :D

 

I hope Adele doesn't do as well. She is completely over-rated. There were only 3-4 good songs on her last album. The rest was dull as dishwater.

 

When I first heard 21 I remember feeling underwhelmed and the fact it was quite ballad heavy but I love it now, I just love everything about Adele, her attitude and her character is just so refreshing and I can't wait for her new album.

 

Obviously I can't see it matching the success of 21 but it could easily become a million seller if its released in the next 2-3 months

 

Can't wait for new music from Emeli and Rudimental

CANNOT WAIT for James Bay's album, Hold Back The River is one of the best songs of 2014. Also Imagine Dragons. And would also like to hear Adele's album for sure and Rudimental's first album was good.

So many make-or-breaks coming in 2015 then - Emeli Sande and Rudimental are both very interesting. I wish all the best for these UK artists though and hope they can do well internationally too. Hoping the new albums from Kodaline (February), James Bay and Marina and the Diamonds (April) can all do well too.

 

For me, Rihanna is the one I'm anticipating most - it's been quite nice having her away from the charts, so I'm sure anything she releases will be swallowed up. Eager to see how Adele's possible '25' compares to its predecessor and how Madonna fairs too - that last era was a mess.

I don't expect Rihanna will see that well from an album perspective. Maybe 30k opening and then trickling sales from then on. Adele is interesting as a lot of people will buy the album out of intrigue. If she releases a rolling in the deep esc song she might do a Take That and sell a million in the first 3 weeks. Opening sales should be about 350,000 I would say.

Madonna might not even make number one. Her last album did but sold very poorly. From the new material I've heard, I'm not impressed and don't think she will turn it around.

Rihanna's "World Peace" leaked and is apparently from her R8 album, so a Q2 release is probably on the cards. It's only a demo apparently but still sounds alright
