I don't know what's worse: people criticising the relationship as you've said or people saying Maddie has been sexualised despite a leotard being a traditional outfit for dance!

:drama: I suppose a video as daring as this is always going to get a huge reaction and the internet will pick up on the most drastic of those. Sia handled it very well in her responding comments. I've seen an overwhelmingly positive response to the video too, and of course the effect it's had on the single, so it's not all bad obviously :P

Up to #17 now. Will be too much to ask for a top 40 entry this week i would have thought, so i hope it stabilises and continues to hold up well for next week (and beyond)!

So odd to see Aronchupa making its way up in pre-orders. I just recently came back from Sicily and the song was always playing there, and was a song I never thought would be released here...

 853. Aronchupa- I'm an Albatraoz.

Speaking of being abroad, Stromae was very popular out there. I wonder why his singles, Papaoutai and Tous Les Memes never got released here considering Allors On Danse did well here.

That bugs me too. Slightly different scenario but it is like when Beyonce dances in her music videos/on stage in a leotard and is instantly branded "slutty" even though, as you say, it's a typical dancing outfit. Going back to the whole "paedophilia" thing though, I do just think people want to find anything to be outraged about which is extremely sad.

I remain baffled as to why 'Papaoutai' STILL hasn't been pushed here. Especially with the Angel Haze mix (presumably manufactured for the UK market) out there!

Anglophone countries cannot deal with foreign language songs. This has always been known. Stromae did attempt to push the song, but it quite obviously did nothing and foreign language music never will in a country as racist as every English speaking one.

Yep, it's a little annoying! But as someone said already, how many non English lyrical songs have made it big here? A tiny number. Stromae really is an underrated one!

Some foreign language songs have been very big hits though. I certainly don't remember it getting any sort of push here, I guess we'll never actually know unless we worked for his label or a radio station (so therefore had evidence that it was actually presented to radio!)

Stromae is releasing a song in the US soon with Lorde, Pusha T and Q-Tip, but it's all in English I think.

 14. Sia - Elastic Heart (feat. The Weeknd & Diplo)

I wonder when Sia will start dropping.. Might be too much to ask her to get top 10 off the back on the video but here's hoping.

Uptown funk gained like another 20% in the last two updates. Why?!?!? They will be number 1 for 10 weeks. :((((( nothing is gonna change for weeks...

The reason for that is because the top version was deleted, and a new version has had to climb up again. That's why it's making gains.

I know about it... But it's just too much after all this time. What a low competition he has right now.. Lucky him but it's sales is insane also.

What caused the Glenn Mederos return with nothings gonna change my love for you does anyone know?

Coronation Street.

I thought Desire would get a big effect, glad it's looking set to return to the top 40 next week :D

Foreign language songs only become big hits as novelty. It is not something with any consistency. 'Alors on danse' doing well is irrelevant to Stromae pushing 'Papaoutai' because nobody took any serious interest in Stromae thanks to the song, they just thought "lol this song is funny i can dance to it and feel cultured".

He did push the song, and he gave interviews about trying to break English markets. "French is not a sub-language" was a quote he used, speaking about Anglophone countries refusing to let in foreign languages including French. Unfortunately, Anglophones disagree with him.

 10. Taylor Swift - Shake It Off

Just incredible!
