Another underwhelming Ella single, even if it is featuring Sigma. Was really hoping this would finally be her killer single, but I imagine she'll probably just miss the Top 10 with it again!

It's SO frustrating as I know that she is capable of releasing a huge hit but unfortunately it's just not coming right now. Mega annoying as she has the VOICE, now she just needs the song to properly break her into that top 10 and be the star that she rightfully should be :(

I guess she came extremely close with 'Comeback' even though I always preferred 'If I Go'

The hottest record last night was a glasto performance so I didn't include it. I mean I wasn't there I don't care about the festival lol start playing new stuff. Ah well tonight's is a song performed at the festival too but it's new and from one of the biggest pop stars in the world

Hottest Record 30/6/2015

Pharrell Williams Freedom

Anyone have a release date for this? Really good track and meaningful as well.

TOTD for Wed 1st July - Charlie Puth feat. Meghan Trainor 'Marvin Gaye'

First time I've heard that, and it's actually a lovely little pop song :)

Predix for this afternoon's playlist:

Sigma feat. Ella Henderson – Glitterball (pretty much a certainty)

Foxes – Body Talk

Shura – White Light

Otto Knows – Next To Me

Calvin Harris & Disciples – How Deep Is Your Love (unless it's being pushed back)

Jeremih feat. Flo Rida – Tonight Belongs To U!

The Weeknd – Can't Feel My Face (I'm still inclined to think they'll playlist this)

All Time Low – Runaways

The Vaccines – 20/20 (depending on impact date)

Example – Whisky Story (apparently out next Friday and I'm sure he still has at least one more era of support left from Radio 1)

This exactly. It's a forgone conclusion that this is going to be amongst the obvious #1's of this year. I must say it's refreshing to hear Charlie not sounding at all like Sam Smith on this like he was with SYA. More of this type of singing please on your songs, that and that this is very catchy.

'All About That Bass' is the only song Meghan has got right for me (I say "right" as its catchiness managed to outweigh the awful lyrics) and Charlie Puth has stepped right out of 2011.

The texts to Radio 1 after they played this in the morning showed a real divide, although there's no doubt at all it will be a big hit regardless.

Honestly one of the worst song's I have ever heard. Utter cheesefest.

So it will obviously be a massive multi week #1 -_-

It is absolutely atrocious - and I was a fan of the first two Meghan singles! - but it is sadly an obvious big hit that will probably hang around in the chart well into next year. Boo.

Oh god yes 'Marvin Gaye' is utter dross. Such a tacky cringefest, "let's Marvin Gaye and get it on" doesn't even make sense but I won't get into that :kink:

The formula of her first two singles were actually a breath of fresh air but 'Dear Future Husband' and this have totally missed the mark.

On the other hand, hopefully the 'Can't Feel My Face' prediction will be correct.

TOTD for Thu 2nd July - Jess Glynne 'Don't Be So Hard On Yourself'

Not convinced this sounds like a #1 but we'll see.

It should be <3 easily Jess's best solo track, her voice is much more pleasant on the ears and I also am preferring the melody and chorus to this over HMH as well.
