Esmee for #1! :D

Really chuffed for Fergie even if the song is 3 minutes of WTF.

Great to see Hannah Wants & Karen Harding doing so well!

Fergie's song is also good, so pleased its at #2.

How about "The heart wants what Hannah Wants... Rihanye"?

Rihanye to completely smash it please! Really, REALLY loving it. (Probably coz it's new Rihanna more than it being a great song, but still a real jam!)

'FourFiveSeconds' is up for pre-order here but says 'released 26 Jan' so it appears that it's on pre-order for one day. Completely pointless move. It's not currently showing in the top 1,500 but then it isn't in the US where it's actually out either - the same thing happened with 'Only One' IIRC so expect it to show up any moment now.
I've listened to this Daft Punk knock-off a few times now and I have to say thank goodness for a radio edit cos I've never heard such a repetitive barrage of nothingness for an extremely long time. It's a shame as the production is really quite good but the vocals are bordering on farcical.

Fergie - L.A.LOVE (la la) 0.5975

Looks like Fergie will get a little closer to #1 than Meghan managed to. I did think Fergie would actually get the #1 this week but Mark and Bruno are still showing remarkable perseverance.

Excellent stuff for Karen Harding & Hannah Wants! :music:
SO pleased to see Karen Harding in the top 10. Up to a couple weeks ago I thought it was going to bomb.

Fergie's song is really bizarre - the chorus sounds like a European cheesy novelty song and the verses/'rapping' sound like a really poor imitation of Iggy Azalea with the standard DJ Mustard beat. Definitely not a song we need at number 1, Uptown Funk to slay again plz.

Not a massive fan of the other two entries either, from what I've heard.

While I agree that Fergie shouldn't hit #1, I do actually really like the song. Excited to hear what else Fergie has plans to release (though if another Black Eyed Peas album is happening, maybe another solo album will have to wait).

I think the album is still going ahead - I saw a headline on Digital Spy saying how new BEP music might have to go ahead without her, presumably because she's focusing on her solo stuff. Really hope it's not true; BEP will be rubbish without Fergie tbh!

Esmee  37

G'Won Esmée! get that top 100 re-entry!

good to see Fergie doing well even without R1 support (I guess mass capital fm airplay is just as good though), hopefully Fergie/will.i.am having big solo hits means The Black Eyed Peas will absolutely slay upon their return.

It's very rarely that we get a female DJ doing well in the chart so yay for Hannah Wants doing well! :D Rhymes is so good too, I don't care how repetitive it sounds, the vocal/beat combination is hypnotising in a good way

Karen Harding doing well too is great to see! Right Here part 2 it is but that's not a bad thing for me

And what is this? Selena Gomez actually releasing a good song? :o although I did like Naturally when that came out though

The only other female DJ/producer I can think of who has made the top 40 any time recently was B.Traits with her fleeting #36 smash 'Fever' - I'm sure there must be others that I can't think of but it does seem to be a heavily male-dominated genre.

I was under the impression that Chris Lorenzo did all the production but there you go!

Another act that springs to mind is NERVO. They had a hit last year with R3hab & Ummet Ozcan & one the year before with Nicky Romero, both very good tracks!

Pretty sure it was produced by both of them, the vocals are sampled from Daft Punk so Hannah has to be doing SOMETHING :kink:

And I thought NERVO were just vocalists! Good call on them. Though I strongly disagree that they're 'very good tracks', they're both among the dullest dance 'hits' of the last few years for me. 'We're All No One' is a tune though and should have been a hit for them.

Iggy is an imitation of Fergie (and other female rappers) if anything.

B.Traits with her fleeting #36 smash 'Fever'

I really loved that song!

you're not the first to think that  but they definitely DJ/produce. :P Some of their songs don't even feature their vocals
