March 4, 201510 yr He's just confirmed the two songs it's between are both ballads! Not the right choice for this year Australia :kink:
March 4, 201510 yr Urgh, definitely not here for a ballad entry. I was expecting a banger, something fun!
March 4, 201510 yr Okayyyyy... Mans is going to completely show him up. (if Sweden make the right choice...). Heroes is the sort of epic that Australia should have been looking to send.
March 4, 201510 yr (if Sweden make the right choice...) if they don't I won't bother with going this year. massively underwhelmed by most entries so far...
March 4, 201510 yr I think Mans is definitely a potential Eurovision winner now if he wins Melodifestivalen, so many ballads - he'll stand out so well especially with that stage performance.
March 4, 201510 yr Like A Drum would've been a fantastic entry had it not been the first single from the album in October 2013 - it's 3:02 as well! As it stands, I'm hoping for Imagine The Sunrise or One Of Us - but the latter is like 4:48 or something so is too long and cutting it might ruin it. One Of Us is my favourite song left on the album really: Y4w4OIBuJPE Tbf to them, whilst it doesn't seem like a great choice compared to Ricki or Jess for example (who'd surely be contenders with a big pop song), with his profile at home it'd be like the BBC opening submissions and getting Ed Sheeran or Sam Smith (he's not quite as ubiquitous tbf but you get the picture). Ricki-Lee's album was out in Oct and has some serious tunes on it so even if she was gonna be lazy too... But oh well, I love Guy and there's no way he'll disappoint vocally. We'll wait and see what song he picks I guess. For a country who's been going on about how much they love the contest and want to show appreciation though, a ballad doesn't really fit. Especially when we have SO many ballads already this year  Also you'd think they'd have put a bit more effort in than just plucking their biggest artist with a song that's already released on an album.
March 4, 201510 yr "He is a massive international star, he went to number 2 in Norway." wow Guaranteed the Norwegian 12 then, just like Cascada were guaranteed the UK top marks with all their hits...oh wait.
March 5, 201510 yr I'm only backing Eric Saade for the Swedish win, I think "Heroes" has a very "meh" chorus. So, Australia are sending a ballad.... this contest is shaping up the rival the awfulness of 2010.
March 5, 201510 yr What a f***ing anti-climax. They had one shot at it and are sending Guy Sebastian :/
March 8, 201510 yr Apparently an Australian radio station (Joy 94.9 that had previously announced the press conference date before SBS themselves) have said that 'Alive' is the chosen song. I wouldn't exactly call it a ballad though, but I am so hoping it is true - it's exactly the summer-pop Vienna needs! 8bluqSaCvFo
March 9, 201510 yr Well it's eligible (or a three minute version of it would be anyway). If that's the song, then I'm calling WINNER now :D Edited March 9, 201510 yr by Tom Ace Of KaySe
March 9, 201510 yr WnthDu_vhAE Seems to be true :D I'm glad, this'd probably be my second choice after One Of Us (but that's nearly 5 minutes so would have to have SO much editing that it'd probably be ruined). Very catchy little song and best of all not a ballad!
March 9, 201510 yr http://i.imgur.com/ezJXY1C.gif They have produced such amazing pop songs and they come up with cheese like this, altho I think the Eurovision edit is slightly ebtter for some reason Edited March 9, 201510 yr by *Tim
March 9, 201510 yr I really like it, current aswell! Should do well especially as I imagine there'll be Italy-esque goodwill shown towards them... not anything special but solid enough. Wouldn't say winner myself though.
