'Hold My Hand' will be the best #1 of the year! Really hope 'Bloodstream' can get there though as that'd be the first #1 of the year I PROPERLY love (bar 'Uptown Funk' when it first came out but that got rather old).

'Hold My Hand' is glorious! It's easily the best thing she's done for me (well, excluding 'Rather Be'). 'Right Here' was so boring in comparison and felt rather limp for me. 'Real Love' was good, but got boring pretty fast.
I can't see what else could be #1 for a few weeks after Jess, apart from Ed, mind you I would prefer Jess to hang on to the #1 spot for a few weeks, rather than having RudieEd

I think he could make the top 40...

On sales :heehee:

Yeah :kink: I can't see him benefiting much, if at all on streams.

It's good but I've not grown that much on Jess' new track but at least it's going to put a stop to Sam Smith :drama:

To see Bloodstream get to #1 isn't that much of a good thing, although it's much better than TOL thank god, but I hope it's not going to spend more than a week there so I hope there's a big release after that week :)

The new rule actually makes me feel sorry for the people who actually do use pre-orders... It's like those customers don't even affect the actual chart...

Well not really. If they do actually follow the iTunes chart, they'll have already seen the effect of their pre-orders when the song is showing up for weeks before release.

I like that the pre-orders aren't added again on release. It makes much more sense and it's more interesting to watch songs actually climbing the chart. However, I'm a bit unclear as to what stage the pre-order sales do actually get added? Do the first midweeks show them or will they be a complete unknown until the final sales figures are released at the end of the week? Does that mean that if a new release is number 2 on the Friday chart update, it's possible it'll overtake when pre-order sales get added at the cut off point on Saturday night? That makes it quite exciting, particularly for those songs that have built up really strong pre-order sales but only make it to number 2 overall during the week. Means they could overturn quite a big gap when they're added in. Does that even make sense? I feel like I'm babbling now.

pre-order update

120. Bloodstream - Ed Sheeran & Rudimental

168. I Really Like You - Carly Rae Jepsen

180. Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix Radio Edit) - Omi

222. Rumors (Radio Edit) - Pep & Rash

It's looking a lot like Omi and Carly are going to be #1! :cheer:

Also I predict Rumours will be something around 11-20 or so, but I don't know who is playlisting it

I hear Rumors all the time on Kiss. Very surprised something so underground-sounding is lining up to be a sizable hit!
Nick is looking likely to be one of those decent running #4 hits!
I think Ed Sheeran will definitely get #1 next week. Other songs in a similar situation from the past few years that got #1 (Spectrum, Gettin' Over You) weren't even top 40 the week before release but got #1 after the remixes. In this case the original has been top 40 for weeks, so that suggests to me it'll get #1. Unless the OCC are stupid and chart the song separately like they did with Sam Smith (but I think that might have had something to do with it being a charity single tbh).

Hopefully if Radio 1 give it some good airplay then a top 20 would be achievable even though it deserves to be a top 10 but no doubt it will end up following the peaks of Hannah Wants/Tough Love/Alex Adair and peak anywhere between 15 and 11 :(

No, Rudeboy missed the top 40 entirely.

That's a great song  Not very chart-friendly though, especially in comparison to Higher. Sigma have said they'll release another single in the summer to accompany their album and I hope its more interesting than Higher.

I would have preferred Right Here to be #1 if I'm honest. I like Jess Glynne but I'm not keen on this song.

Great that Omi is still high on pre-orders :cheer:

Is there no sign of Zedd feat. Selena Gomez - I Want You To Know in the top 1000 on preorders??!

Really expect this to be quite big! :)

Pre-orders will download and get billed on the first day that a track is released. So, unless its a midweek release, for singles they practically are all sold on sunday. Therefore this sales will, like pre-orders have always been, show up on the first chart update. :)
