October 21, 20168 yr Author BJSC Country yx_DyPp4buM The latest spinoff has arrived in Unovia! A genre themed edition this time as it's all about country. Jadakissnia have not yet dabbled in country so this was a fun challenge for us. We quickly settled on 'Leave It All To You' by guitarist Björn Thoroddsen, featuring the vocals of Anna. The song drew us in due to the instrumentation really standing out and because the vocals were pretty sweet. So it's a chilled offering from us this time. We get to add a new nationality to our spinoff entries collection as Björn Thoroddsen is from the wonderful Iceland. He actually organised the first Icelandic guitar festival in 2007 and that turned out to be successful enough to warrant it annually ever since. #funfact Anyway, we hope to find some fans in amongst the 26 other participants. Here's to something a bit different from us this month!

October 31, 20168 yr Author LATEST NEWS BJSC 90 HÆLOS - Earth Not Above lCWyGO0x1Uo Last night it was announced that our 17th entry to BJSC is 'Earth Not Above' by HÆLOS! HÆLOS are a British trio, so they are our second main contest entry from the UK following MssingNo. This is not the only similarity to MssingNo however, as HÆLOS are also another act recycled from Unknown Pleasures. The song caught my attention when a segment of it was used as background music in the TV show Catfish (that was being bingewatched a lot over the summer in Jadakissnia) and I felt immediately intrigued from this portion. The song is pretty gripping and even a bit haunting with the moody vocals and the visuals particularly towards the end. Yup, we have a music video this time after three entries in a row sans music video! Anyway, the mix of female and male vocals on top of each other and the indie-pop feel make me lean towards comparing this to our debut (Last Lynx - 'Curtains') ever-so-slightly. One other huge standout about this for me was the production which feels suspenseful throughout. We hope you guys enjoy and vote for us in semi 1! BJSC Country Results http://i.imgur.com/08BnR8C.jpg BJSC Country results took place in Unovia last night so our fate has been revealed. Our entry was 'Leave It All To You' by Björn Thoroddsen feat. Anna and we finished in 18th with 41 points. We were happy with this result as our aim was to get a top 20 out of this! As BJ10 has been omitted from the spinoff stats, this is our best spinoff result of the year. Our previous was 19th with Samantha Ronson's 'Built This Way' in BJSC Movies. It was pleasing to be lifted out of the 20-something positions rut that we were stuck in for three spinoffs in a row. We received a silver medal from Terra Avium and a bronze from Aeroche and Persephonia which was most pleasing. Unovia announced their own win last night! Their song was 'Oklahoma Sky' by Miranda Lambert. We were absolutely thrilled that this won as it was our top pointer! Unovia have now won three spinoffs, so they move ahead of Aquafina and ourselves and claim the most wins record all for themselves. Our 10 went to Suedeonia with 'Rose Of Cimmaron' by Poco which finished 15th, and our 8 was awarded to Aelandor with 'Platform 7' by Mt. Desolation. This came 10th, giving the nation two spinoff 10th places in a row! November 7, 20168 yr Author HÆLOS make it 9/10 Qs for 2016! It was announced last night in Morpeth Cove, Ashton that our entry 'Earth Not Above' by HÆLOS is through to the final of BJSC 90! This has given us 9/10 qualifiers for 2016 and our 14th qualifier out of a possible 17 since we joined. Our qualifying streak is now also back up to 4, so if we qualify next contest then we will be back up to our joint highest qualifying streak of 5! We have drawn slot 37 in the running order. Things went pretty well for us on the whole in semi 1! All of our favourites qualified from the semi minus our 5 pointer. This was returnees Pagasa with 'Torbellino' by Marineros. We hope this DNQ doesn't dishearten them as Jadakissnia have voted for all three of their entries in their respective semis! Anyway, semi 1 was mostly good but there was a travesty in the other semi. Deandria DNQed with what would've been our 12 had we been in that semi - 'Hologram' by Vogel. The people of Jadakissnia are mourning the loss of this song which sounds like something we could have sent ourselves. Rejects smasher please! Thank you to everyone who voted for 'Earth Not Above' in the semi! Please do support us in the final. The battle for an EOY top 5 placement is on!
