I've always done my personal chart at the weekend because new albums come out on a Monday and it gives me the whole week to buy/stream and listen to them, get used to them and then decide where to chart them. With everything set to be released on Friday now I've realised that this would only give me one day to listen to potentially 8-10 new albums on a busy week, therefore I may have to somehow fit my chart into a weekday slot (not that I really ever have the time :lol:)

 

I'm guessing the personal chart impact here will be minimal as most people either don't compile album charts or don't listen to as many new albums per week as I do. But is anybody else thinking of changing the day they publish their chart for this reason?

Unfortunately yes as I do my chart at midnight on Sunday as that is the end of release week.

Logically I would move my chart to midnight on Friday but as I will be asleep most times because of school my chart will be moving to Saturday at midnight so it will be a day earlier.

It's funny that I decided to make my chart return on a Friday just before I heard about the new chart announcement! It's just the time of the week I've got the most free-time on!

My chart is typed up on a Friday night and posted on Saturday, so no, my chart won't change! Album-wise it won't make much of a difference as they typically leaked by Friday anyway so a Friday release won't be much different :kink:

My chart is going to go into meltdown in June/July because of holiday with no Internet connection and global release day

Sunday 7th June

Tuesday 9th June- (For W/E 14th June)

Thursday 25th June- (for W/E 21st June)

Sunday 28th June

Sunday 5th July

Saturday 11th July

Sunday 19th July- as birthday on 18th

I think I might move mine to Thursday or Friday from Sunday when everything changes :o

do mine while listening to the top 40 rundown on sunday. I think there's an alternative rundown I can still use :lol:

I do mine on Tuesday and Saturday but I consider just having a Tuesday one and have the Saturday as midweek, but that will mess up my archive and stats/records :drama:

No, it will remain a Sunday as it marks the end of a week and the start of another quite nicely.

 

I chart songs from when they are released to the internet so impact dates or download release dates have no bearing on my chart whatsoever- and generally new tracks don't hit the internet on a Sunday (the music industry day of rest) so it's a good day to 'take stock' and rank the very new and recent releases.

I've decided that I will change my chart from Sunday to Friday! The reason I did it on a Sunday was to reflect the official chart date, so I'd like that to continue.

No I dont have the time on fridays, it will continue to be sundays with the "other" top 40 show on in the background...

I usually post it Fridays anyway.
