What's the betting that this completely stops record labels from rush-releasing things ever again, and we go back to singles being held back for four months just incase we see another 'See You Again' again :P I do quite like Cheeleader, just a bit mystified why it's being labelled a dance track when it's way too laid-back to be anything more than a chillout toe-tapper.

Wonder if both Love Me Like You Do and See You Again's successes point to a movie sound revival like the Bryan Adams/Whitney Houston/Wet Wet Wet/etc etc etc days of the early 1990s. What's going to be the big track of the new Avengers film?

I knew Wiz would start strong but the Kworb updates are just crazy :drama: At least we will have two high-selling singles this upcoming week!
Because there was a fake version at No.6 and they were massively risking losing sales (already have lost quite a few to illegal downloads I'd assume).

It should have been released a month ago, and it would have been #1. Held back release massively back-firing. Steve201 will be pleased. :D

:w00t: I only hope it teaches them a lesson. Although tbf Sycho release 1D straight away so they have started to learn that sales are more important than chart position sometimes.

Unfort on BJ it just seems to have meant a counter revolution with fans of Omi pissed it didn't reach no1 and saying it should be held back another week to ensure it does  . Yes that no1 is more important than losing out on multiple weeks of hundreds of thousands of people being able to purchase the track(and maybe even returning to downloading legally for other tracks they like)

Serves OMI's label right if he loses it now. If they did it last week it would have got #1 in the bag (even if it was released Midweek). At least it has given Joe Jonas a chance.

The only 'lesson' labels will learn from this is to hold back singles even further instead of bringing it forward sadly. I bet the label are super annoyed right now that they're missing out on a #1 simply because they're releasing this week instead of next. (or y'know, the week just past, which would have been a perfect time to release it tbh, but it's too late to go back now)

Okay, well I gotta eat my words ^_^

So surprised with how huge this Wiz song is. I don't really get it tbh, I think its pretty bland and sounds like any boring Sam Smith song (although that's probably me answering my own question over why it is doing well). At least 'Cheerleader' is infectious, even if it is a bit of a love it or hate it thing. 'See You Again' is very unmemorable in my mind anyway.

Watch the video I posted a few pages back. It's the end scene of Furious 7 where it gets played.

I think when looking back in 5/10 years time, the ending will be mentioned up there with the most memorable film endings. It's moving (I shed a few tears when I saw it for the first time, and I've seen the ending 10+ times, and it still moves me) very tasteful, well produced, and the lyrics while mirror Paul Walker, I think you can relate them to anyone that's ever lost somebody.

I can see from the outside if you're not a fan of the franchise or if you haven't seen the film, why it might not have the same effect. But it's

Disagree completely with the first point. This is just one of those rare cases, an anomaly if you like.

Im sure the happy at the big sales it'll get this week at no2 tho as opposed to the 5-10k preorders?

Plus it's preorders could still help it sell well - have to wait til the mids to see!

I'm not sure why people are so surprised at Wiz's success, the song has done this well in pretty much every other country so far (plus the fact it went to #1 on Spotify within a couple of days). OMI never really had a chance against it. I could see it doing nearly as well as 'Uptown Funk'.
I think Omi will still get #1. It's clearly going to be a million-seller with huge longevity not to mention the charts move quite slowly now, I think it'll get #1 at some point.
Got to say I am surprised to see Wiz looking set to have a #1. After Black & Yellow, didn't think he would ever get a bigger hit tbh and fade away. See You Again is a great song though so happy it is doing well.
I find it amusing that Wiz Khalifa featured in R1's one-hit wonders less than a week ago, and here he is topping the iTunes chart with a track likely to outsell "Black & Yellow".

 150 - Shayne Ward - My Heart Would Take You Back

Finally cracked the Top 150! Had hoped the fact it's 59p might have boosted sales a bit more tho

The best thing Wiz Khalifa ever did for me was by far and away 'Roll Up', the follow-up to 'Black And Yellow' which flopped at #42. :( Excellent track.

'Roll Up' is my favourite from him too, by some distance! Gutted it never made the top 40 :(

How much Pre orders it could have? 30K top... even less.

If Wiz is selling X2 of Cheerleader and still ahead on streaming... and they both selling LOADS... so Wiz can and should cover this Pre order thing in 3 days top. Isn't he?

Perfect opportunity to plug this fantastic song also called See You Again :magic:

That should be #1 instead tbh.
