Against Brugge, HELL YES. Against PL teams, at times but that's probably only because the last two years have been very poor.

f*** Swansea. Why are they even allowed to play in the English Premier League?

Because they're apparently good enough to do such, since they're under the Crown?

Swansea City.....I like them, a definite team I'm rooting for, have been since last season.... :cheer: :cheer:

It is a bit dodgy when you think about it. Swansea being a Welsh team should really be in the Welsh league but i'm glad that they are in the English league because they do add positively to the Premier League (even though they keep beating Man Utd 2-1).

United looked good against Brugge, well because Brugge were awful and lacked any sort of tactical nous. First leg they gave Depay all the space and time in the world and he hurt them. What do they do in the second leg? Exactly the same thing of course.

Man Utd don't have a bad team at all, but they lack goals, and that will really hurt them. They're going to have to rely on Liverpool being worse than them. Like I said previously, Romero is absolutely shocking and it's awful management if you sell De Gea and just have Romero. Their whole transfer strategy is perplexing, and done with the Galatico thought in mind, only less fancy one. Today was the first time they've been tested - isolate Blind at CB and you will create chances. He's a fine choice for most home games, but against big powerful strikers he's a major weaklink.

Well every team has a bogey side & Swansea appear to be United's (they are my second team so if it has to be anyone I'm glad it's them).

Completely toothless in attack though & now the defence looks rather worrying as well as the keeper. Considering the money we've spent it's hard to pinpoint how on earth we still don't appear to have strengthened  Now we'll get 2 days of "panic buy this", "panic buy that" which should at the very least provide some mild form of entertainment.

The bolded just made me think of the song "Panic" by The Smiths....

As in things are blowing up in their faces at the moment?

Nothing about De Gea signing a new 4 year contract!?

Imagine it's great news if you're a United fan. Knowing Van Gaal, I'm expecting he was pushed in to signing a new contract, as if he wants to play in the Euros then he needs to play regularly. Still think he's gone next summer mind.

It's only great news if his heart is back again with Man Utd, if it isn't then maybe we would have been better off without him. I cant see him staying for another 4 years personally.

How is it anything other than outstanding news?

Best case: We get Dave for another 4 years.

Worst case: Dave goes to Madrid next summer anyway but for a heftier fee, ending a year of boring speculation about going on a free.

Yes, there'll be clause a plenty in there but Dave has taken the risk Madrid will still even WANT to pay up next year. His heart will be back in it. Guaranteed.

I'm guessing he will have a 25m - 30m sell on clause.

I'm still very confident he will be a Madrid player next year.

Of course he'll end up at Madrid. Nice to see that, as a club, we actually got some kind of moral victory however. Such a long shot from all that desperate posturing and floundering leverage earlier in the summer. I'm not sure which party ends up alienated from all of this though. Guess it depends on the terms of the contract which, likelihood would have it, we'll probably never find out.
I read Mourinho's comments about the best keeper in the world being out for three months and I was like "Neuer's injured?". Then I realised he was just about talking Courtois. Poor Josie got confused again. :D
