Liverpool have started very well at Man City... a goal up and bossing the play!
3-0 to Liverpool now, what a great set of scorelines/results today for Man Utd. It's a shame that Leicester won today but if we beat them next week then we will be top outright.

Edited by Hazza Chapman

Liverpool's performance today is uncannily similar to that of their 13/14 year, even including the token Skrtel goal and lack of clean sheet.

Which means it's up to United to prevent him from breaking said record. No pressure then...

I remember van Nistelrooy's run of goals, was when United went on a mad run to beat Arsenal to the title in 2003. There was one he dribbled it from the half way line against Fulham and a breakaway one at Highbury. Major nostalgia!

I'm not sure he'd work in today's game though. Not enough room for 'predators' as back then. Every team seemed to have one like Michael Owen, Andy Cole, Jermaine Defoe, Kevin Phillips or James Beattie.

I'm sure Jamie Vardy will score again next Saturday against Man Utd, especially as they're playing at home in the evening match. These are the types of matches that Man United could drop points in and I expect it to be a very tough match but it's one that we can't afford to slip up in if we want to win the title.
I'm about 30 mins behind watching MOTD, so have just seen Swansea v Bournemouth. I think Swansea's first goal was just offside, but I couldn't be sure from the angle shown. Even if it was offside, it was so close that it has to be accepted as an understandable mistake. OTOH, the penalty should definitely not have been given. Even if there was contact, it was not deliberate. Bournemouth seem to have been rather unlucky with refereeing decisions so far. I look forward to some iffy decisions going their way in the next few months.

United odds on favourites for the title now IMO - more solidity in their side compared to City & Arsenal!

Poor league this year tho!

Still think the title is City's. Poor league though, it's like no-one wants to win the title!

Is rooney okay or has he died of happiness?

I only watched the first 20 minutes! I thought we would get a point, but to come away with 3 is excellent. We're currently much better as an away side. We looked amazing from the highlights I've seen. Even more exciting when Sturridge & Henderson return to fitness! Still think we will just miss out on the Top 4 though.

Am chuffed to bits for Leicester. What a difference 12 months makes!!!

Good weekend for us, going above City and Arsenal is a good motivator for champions league in midweek. Especially with Depay and Basti scoring. (Yes I know the latter is technically an own goal but I'm still counting it)

No technically about it, that shot was never going in without Deeney touching it! :P

Excited for the match next weekend. I hope Vardy can break the record.

It's like the West Ham of old are back!

Spurs look a frightening prospect for the first time in years, I'm glad we played them when we did.

No need to sound so pleased...

I like Andy Carroll but he doesn't fit the way we want to play anymore. Lanzini looks lost without Payet.

Oh I'm not at all pleased, I had a bet on West Ham to win :P

League looks very exciting this year, nightmare for the bookies at the moment.

I really thought West Ham might get a result today, especially with their results at the other big away grounds so far.

Agree the league and top 4 looks really open. Spurs are impressing me, but it's still so early in the season. What's good for the league though is that it seems for the first time in ages there are lots of good goalscorers out at the moment, makes for interesting viewing!

I think this is one of the best seasons for the league as a whole in recent years. It's like any team is capable of beating anyone, so many shocks so far this season. The gap that was huge years ago between the top 4 and the rest is shrinking so much which is good to see.

For the neutral it would be great if the title race, Champions League qualification & relegation battle all went down to the final day of the season.

In terms of great title races I remember in the 2001/02 season the league leaders changing hands so many times throughout the season until around March/April when Arsenal went on a winning run of matches to secure the title as part of their FA Cup double. Even Newcastle were top of the table for a bit that season

Relegation is a bit more clear cut this year.. probably for the first time in ages
