The bigger teams have bigger squads. They would be expected to have better quality players on the bench than the likes of Bournemouth have in their starting line-up.

We have bigger squads, but there's a much bigger dip in quality or you start putting square pegs in round roles. All it takes is another couple of injuries and you've put loads of youth on the bench.

Only the one goal so far which is in the Sunderland v Aston Villa match. Let's see some goals in the second half.

Looks the league is still hanging from New Year's Eve parties.

To be fair, we played the last game of 2015 and the first of 2016 - we looked leggy today (plus another 2 games within 6 days to come!!!). Still doesn't excuse us from being shite away from home once again mind.

Fantastic performance and result for West Ham today! With Payet returning too, complete with some classy touches, we could be in for an exciting rest of the season.

Shout out James Collins too. Wouldn't have been surprised to see him sold in the summer, but he's been immense recently and got a deserved contract extension. A throwback centre half, but excellent at what he does.

Have to second that truly a brilliant performance from West Ham there against Liverpool.

I'm on about everyone in general, at least it looks like they picked the right game for TV, these 3PMs have been tragic so far.

According to Final Score, Leicester v Bournemouth seems to be a decent game, but the rest sound pretty poor. The MOTD editors might struggle to put together a decent programme tonight.

Collins' job was made easier by the fact Benteke did his best statue Statue of Liberty impression mind.

Everyone's probably knackered. Quite a few cagey games!

Even the commentator said that Liverpool would have been better off with Carroll instead of Benteke. Just doesn't seem to fit the way Liverpool want to play.

James Wilson spewing before the match for Brighton yesterday was my highlight.

I blame Brendan. Honestly don't know what he was smoking!

That's ironic because it was the last match shown on Match Of The Day & the only goalless draw

The Arsenal game was a riot. Ref really screwed Newcastle over numerous times and I was convinced we'd grind out a 0-0 at best but that result just demonstrates that we've got this title challenge in us. Last year we would have wilted.

There's still plenty of time for that.

I am slightly amazed we not only scored but we did it twice in a single match AND finally managed to beat that fcking Swansea lot. Winning 2-1 against them feels fitting

I'm actually pleased for Rooney. Now would be a great time for him to take charge of your team and prove why he's one of the best of all time. And shut up all the critics who seem to have relished in his being off form.

Well done West Ham fans, tactics were spot on today.

Had to laugh at the BT commentary though - all teams have injuries  Liverpool's two most influential players must have played no more than 500 minutes in the league combined!! But once again a complete nothing performance today.

It shows the strength in depth of the league. Last season, losing six of our best attacking players at the same time would completely do us in. This time we've got the squad to be competitive in every game and now those players are coming back we've shown we can beat anyone.

I'm delighted for Arsenal, I think for all the stick Wenger's taken he's developed a really good strong team. However, there's plenty of time still to choke unfortunately. Qas it 2013/2014 you were 9 points clear, then capitulated against Liverpool?

The guy is finished as a top class attacker. Reminds me a it of Owen after his injury.

The majority of Rooney's critics were United fans, not myself included. He's not going to score 20 goals a season anymore but he is still vital in our squad.
