Well I guess Mick / Linda's wedding will be the Xmas / NY storyline

I was hoping for more from EastEnders this week...I was hoping the Ian/Kathy reunion would be EE at its best but I didn't feel anything though I wasn't expecting Ian to get hit by the car though.

The suicide attempt was a bit weak, but great acting from Laurie and Adam again

I need to catch up with tonight's but I've not been blown away this week...

The Ben/Kathy reunion is fantastic so far, very well played. On the other hand, the Ian/Kathy reunion just feels off - Ian seems to be acting like his just found his lost dog or something, I expected more. All that happened in just a few hours in EE time, yet he seems to have got over it already.

Looking forward to see how Ben/Kathy plays out though!

Agreed on Ben's reaction being better and more realistic than Ian's. Of course, half of Ben's life has been shaped by his mother's supposed death.

Did Kathy have that bag slung around her shoulder when she reported it missing?

And why is anyone shocked that Lola has dumped Jay? She didn't exactly hang around to support him...

I must admit Thursday's episode was kinda funny, Ian attempts to jump off, he sees his mum and a car knocks him over.

"Maybe it was someone who just looked like her" More classic Abi.

I echo the comments of Ben's reaction being much better than Ian's. I kind of felt as if it was half Ian/half Adam if that makes sense.

I'm also not convinced about Gavin being this multi-layered villain who "makes Archie seem like a teddy bear".

The fact that Ian's line 'I've got my mum back' is actually something that Adam said when he was told of Kathy's return adds to that feeling. No wonder Tanya got so confused in February.

I thought Lola was dead!

Yeah, it was things like that which made me feel it was part Adam coming through in the performance. For such a sensational storyline, it's important to make it as realistic as possible and Ian/Kathy's reunion so far just feels like it has been done for the sake of the actors.

I forgot to mention that Friday's episode was the first time I managed to take the character of Paul and the actor seriously. He still needs to quit the jaw-clenching though.

Yep I agree about Ben and Ian's reactions. The former did feel much more real, to me Ian and Kathy still feels like Gillian and Adam being reunited, and of course Gillian was never "dead". It just doesn't feel real compared to Ben's reaction and that's a bit jarring. Looking forward to seeing how it all progresses though, great to finally have Kathy properly back and on screen!

I'm glad people are saying the same things in here. I remember Sharon's reaction to Den returning from the dead. It was really memorable television and I remember feeling so many emotions for Sharon (who swiftly ran off to the loos to throw up.)

So far the reactions to Kathy's return are all a little "oh you're back? Took your time." SHE'S BEEN DEAD FFS. Sharon's reaction has been the best so far - Jane's and Ian's have been very disappointing.

Kathy's one of the classics and was one of their biggest mistakes killing her off screen.

They wouldn't be having these problems if they didn't take that f***in stupid decision in the first place. There was no reason for it.

So basically she's come back from the dead and nobody's fussed?

To be fair Jane never met Kathy before did she ?

It's amazing how well written/acted they Kathy/Ben scenes are compared to the Ian ones.

I'm pretty sure you'd still be pretty bloody surprised.
