Incredible episode (apart from the slightly cheesy ending). I'm glad we're finally seeing a storyline actually reach a conclusion! :o So excited for Thursday - especially since we see the brilliant Glenda make her one-off appearance.

That was eastenders at its best. Faultless performances from everyone and Rita really got to prove she isn't just there to be Ronnies sister.

My mistake, no Eastenders until a double on Friday
It's not in her character to do that. She's stubborn as f*** and i don't think Linda would expect her to say sorry at all.
And I guess after attempting to kill your son after he attempted to rape someone and then confesses to raping someone he verbally denied doing so for over a year would cause someone to sit there in silence... and yeah, you're right... she is stubborn LOL
I must echo the comments above: tonight's episode really was EE at its best. Hard-hitting and dark but with an important issue at the heart of it. All characters involved were excellent but a particular shout out to Rita who really got the chance to shine. A lovely use of London Grammar too.
Can we please applaud Rita in that episode? Outstanding.
EastEnders hit a nine-month high in the ratings on Tuesday evening (December 29), overnight figures show.

The Walford soap aired to 6.93m (31.4%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Dean's true colours were finally revealed to all following his attempt to rape Roxy. This was the show's best figure since March, while BBC Three's repeat added 409k (2.2%) at 10pm.

6.9m as a 9 month high doesn't sound all that great but I'm glad ratings are on the rise again, especially since Kathy's return had little effect on the ratings.

It says a lot when July - usually the worst average of all the months - is so far the fourth best monthly average whilst September, which is usually when ratings climb again after the summer slup, has the worst monthly average.

The last 2 episodes are much better than the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day episodes, and i agree Rita deserves credit for great scenes.
A half naked Mick shaving in front of Whitney seems a bit paedophilic to me

She's like 20, it's not paedophiliac  It's just the writers and their Danny Dyer fetish! I'm not complaining but he doesn't need to be topless every 5 minutes just because he's a bit of a dilf.

Really? I thought she was about 17 or something. It still doesn't look right anyway, it was like a scene from the beginning of a porn film

No it is odd you're right, I know she is his son's girlfriend and not a stranger but gratuitous shirtlessness is very Hollyoaks, using the actor for their sex appeal not their acting  Your son's girlfriend isn't the sort of person you'd so readily be shirtless in front of surely, I mean like once accidentally maybe but it's like they're foreshadowing an affair, which I really really don't want to happen :/

I think they're definitely foreshadowing something, but I can't tell if it's gonna be a full-blown affair or just Whitney developing a crush and (unsuccessfully) hitting on Mick.

Right now at least he's definitely not interested.
