Chains is certainly looking to flop. It's strange that it's only getting support from Radio 1 after Jealous was such a hit. I hope things aren't the same for Carly's new single.

I'm not sure what other options he had as potential singles but I feel it was quite a risk following 'Jealous' with 'Chains', the latter being very much a grower and not particularly radio-friendly (in complete contrast to the obvious smash that was 'Jealous'). I guess its performance in the US would have been encouraging but he's not as known or established as a solo act over here to pull off a more subtle type of single so soon, so in a way I'm not surprised radio aren't jumping to playlist it on his name alone. In saying that, I would like it to be a hit as I'm a fan of it myself.

I must have missed it but what is this Birdy revival?

It's on an advert for Lloyd's thatseems to be one of those that's on during every break in every program

Lovely song though, I'm glad to see it back

I wouldn't be surprised if it did perform similarly to Talking Body, as a previous poster mentioned. Low peaking but with some longevity, I hope so anyway. It hasn't even had the pleasure of the Radio 1 B-list yet.

Wait so a song is at #49 thanks to pre-orders alone and it isn't out for another two months?!

Standard

That's because it was added yesterday and is already falling, and probably will continue to until it stabilises later.

I imagine it's likely to be brought forward though.

 769. Jess Glynne - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself [PRE-ORDER]

A decent single though not really on the level of Hold My Hand. Could be a #1 contender but I think some of the other releases around that time will be too strong for it (such as Silento/Charlie Puth)

Silento is being held back here? I swear that never happens with these sort of viral rap hits... (one of the very few releases that are consistently OA/OS - or at least already available as they are starting to blow up - most of the time).

Should say 14th August anyway (I was wondering why it appeared to be being released on a Monday).

Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae) will be a strong contender for #1 as it's doing well on pre-orders and it's rising in the spotify top 200 chart already. This song gives me strong Crank That vibes and it's in the top 5 in U.S iTunes as well.
Hoping the releases on the 5th of July give us a top 10 clear out
Silento looks promising at the moment but I can't in any way imagine a song like THAT being a UK #1. Top ten could be a possibility due to the heldback nature but it won't have enough casual buyers/streamers to mount a genuine challenge I suspect.

It's better for me. It's her best song to date... and the lyrics are GREAT!

Said the same thing in the R&B thread about the Soulija Boy vibes  Can't see it going to #1 though, especially with that Charlie Puth song released around the same time. This is gonna be voted Buzzjack's Most Hated of 2015 or something!

If only Trap Queen had managed to rise to the top instead :( Silento's gonna do well though, that much is clear.

Trap Queen is fine, nothing amazing but not an abhorrent #1 if it had got there, but I agree that Silento release (can't bring myself to say song) is just.... horrific beyond words :/ Worst song of the year material.
Is it true that streaming data will be included in the itunes chart in due course rather than having it's own chart?
No-one knows for sure, but Popjustice seems to suggest that in his recent review.
So Birdys original version of Wings appears to have totally disappeared

I've not heard 'Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)' but from looking up the lyrics it looks like Soulja Boy but 10x more lazy. He is really not even trying with those lyrics...

Mind, I do actually quite like 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)' :P

Crank That (Soulja Boy) was amazing *.

Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)... not so much. Though I guess it's one of those songs that I'll love despite being objectively awful
